Hi erybody.
I have recently noticed a strange vibration from under my car.
It seems like some kind of body panel start to vibe at a certain engine rev.
It's not a wheels or trasmission shafts problem, because it appears for istance at 35kmh in 3rd and 50kmh in 4th gear and if they were the wheels would always appear at the same speed.
I spent many hours under the chassis looking for any loose bolt or nut but find nothing!
Anybody got some advice???

Is it RPM related? Speed might be different, but RPM could be the same. If so I would check exhaust mounts.

I do not have a rev counter, but it seems the problems appears at the same RPM (i.e. different gear, different speed).
I think it's related to some loose piece of car body, but I do not find anything.
Do you mean the exhaust header studs on engine, or the rubber mounts between exhaust and frame?

I would say anything exhaust related. If RPM, it could be a heat shield or a mount or the exhaust may have a loose part in the muffler...

Checked for a loose part in the exhaust (with engine off), nothing!
I'll try with exhaust header studs on engine head!
It's very annoying!!!

The only parts looking ruined is the mesh section in the exhaust header, just in front of the catalyst.
I was going to remove catalyst anyway, and have seen on the market many header without that mesh.

The mesh is to allow flex in the exaust, it may be the sounds you hear or it could be the catalyst. Not sure about in Italy, but here in the US if you remove the Catalyst you end up will all kinds of fun engine codes.

Have you ruled out the universal joints in the drive line? I had very little play in them when I checked. However I replaced them and it smothed much of my vibration similar to what your describing.

If it was something in the drive line the vibration (or resonance) would be always at the same speed.

Drive line would be the same speed; engine, exhaust, vibration would be engine RPM.
