FYI - I've never experienced a problem with EZ Pass being read when mounted to the heated windshield. This includes both the older EZ Pass as well as the newer. I also have a Peach Pass mounted on the windshield as well and that transponder is read as well.

Yeah the only reason I don’t have it mounted because of looks.

It’s stupid I know but it’s white and from the outside looking in it looks like **** in my opinion.
And vise versa looking out from the drivers seat, the only spot to hide it would be mounted on the backside of the mirror but it’s still white.

I was thinking about just a sharpie marker paint job but whatever. I live in NYC so I don’t commute (by rover) that much so grabbing it out from the dash box is no big deal.

The license plate mounted ones would be ideal until some idiot stole it here in Brooklyn.

I know I mentioned this above, but if you put it high center, the new ones will be completely obscured by the black-out area in the LR4 windshield. I have the older model and the bottom half of it sticks out. Isn't too noticeable, IMO.

It even seems to work in that location when I have a box on the roof and paddle boards. Must have a low look angle on those sensors because they pick me up on approach without issue.

I don't think it's stupid at all. If there was ever a group of car owners who cared about stuff beyond the mere mechanics and utility of their vehicles, it's Land Rover owners. I care a lot about how my LR looks when I'm in it and when I walk up to it! I'm kinda mulling your Sharpie mod idea lol.

Todd, you got me to get up and go out to the garage to test out that placement. I don't have room to mount it on the glass above the arm that holds the rearview mirror, but I can put it to either the left or right of that in the blackout area that has the dappled pattern (not the solid black part). I can still see it in my peripheral vision but it's not awful, plus I can remove it between trips. In that case I may mount it up there on the passenger side of the mirror. That way those little clear rubbery adhesive mounting blocks won't annoy me.

Thanks; I will definitely order these!

BTW, here is what I use in my side door pocket. Can be bought on Amazon (search Grid-It) in a variety of sizes. It's great at holding just about anything small and has a zippered compartment on the back side. I use another one for my XP-10 micro-start clamps, cables, and charger. It is much smaller than the factory case and it allows me to fit everything in the left side compartment in the cargo area.

I just got my center console insert in yesterday and it is headed back. The fit isn't even close. Check it out. It did come with a nice rubber insert but it doesn't come close to fitting the space.
I just double checked the listing and my order says 2010-2016 LR 4 with fridge. However the listing now says 2014-2016. Did the center console change that much in 2014+ ?

Yep, there it is. It doesn't look like they sell one for earlier models. My order clearly states 2010-2016 though so at least I'll
get my 14 bucks back.

Apparently you can paint an EZ Pass transponder and it still works fine. The technician that hardwired my V-1 to the center map light took it upon himself to paint mine black. He said he liked the way the black V-1 on one side of the rearview mirror matched the black mounted transponder on the other side of the mirror. My first thought was "why would you do that without asking me" but then again, it does look much better in black

I came home from work yesterday and mine arrived sealed in orange tape straight from China. Sorry to hear yours doesn't fit. My fits my '15, it's pretty nice but not nearly the plastic quality of the original...we shall see how long it lasts.
