Just installed tactical 4x4 sliders because they cover my air compressor and it’s original housing so much quieter. Not to mention the sliders cover a good amount of my undercarriage, more than I expected. I have nerf bar and use all the time for loading roof rack. Also stood on all weekend as I installed light bar.

I definitely don’t rock crawl but do hit the trails a couple times a month and the peace of mind knowing my compressor is secure is worth it. Just make sure you use weather stripping when installing sliders where sliders touch vehicle or will make slight creaking noise.

Can you please tell me what type and size weather stripping you used? Also, for your tactical 4x4 sliders, did you go with the LR4 Rock Sliders with Square Nerf Bars: $1365.00 or the LR4 Rock Sliders: $1265.00? Can you tell me why you chose whichever one you did? Thanks!

Thanks everybody for the comments. @toddjb122, your rig looks great and it does look like the Voyagers would be great for my pusposes...was installation straightfrorward? Have you had any creaking that others have mentioned? I'm not sure what the issue is the the compressor cover but I assume it can stay in place?

Red lightning, I spent the extra money and got the nerf bar,at that price point I figure what’s an extra $100...I’m standing on it all the time while loading up my roof rack...glad I got nerf bars, def recommend. Regarding weather stripping, some guys spent couple hundred$$ on noise canceling pads that are used between car frame and interior, the pads are larger and easy to install, I just went with cheap stripping from Home Depot...so far so good.

If you are still thinking about the Prospeed, I have it on my car and it did come with it's own weather strip. I ended not using it as removing the stock weather strip under door was a major PITA. After a shutting the door a few times, the stock strip bent itself and everything works great :)

I have the Prospeed rear ladder, roof rack, undercarriage protection and rock sliders. All pretty high quality stuff. The sliders do in fact protect under the door sill. They are killer strong and will support the full vehicle weight for jacking...I have done it

I'm looking at adding sliders and have narrowed it down to two options. Besides the obvious reason for protection, the secondary criteria is that it should still function pretty good as a step (kids are still small).

It's between Tactical 4x4 and ProSpeed and, oddly enough, the ProSpeed may be a tad cheaper.

For the Tactical, I'm looking at the option with square nerf bars. Cost is $1365 without shipping.

ProSpeed also has a nice looking set that has step inserts and as well as a coating that they call "Raptor", which essentially looks like textured bedliner (base option is powder coat). Cost would be 1475 with shipping. I just have not read about anybody on this forum with personal experience of fitment, quality, etc.

Would love to hear any comments if you have experience with either. Thanks!

Hi Am from the Philippines, Installed the Prospeed on my LR4 and just love it. Useful and protects your Land Rover. Wont regret it. Hope that helps. Enjoy!

Thanks! I've been very happy with them. No creaking or noise whatsoever. I don't have a compressor cover so I can't comment.

Regarding install, @mbw used to have a set (I almost bought off him) and he reported no issues installing or removing a couple times. They're heavy, and as I don't have a floor jack or stands to get them up nicely, I had my mechanic do it. He was very impressed with the build quality. The only install issue was that it conflicts with my front mud flaps (the rigid OEM ones). We cut them out to make space for the sliders. Not as secure, but so far the flaps are still there.

Jazzy - thanks for the info on the Tactical sliders. My biggest concern is that if I choose them as the sliders, it might impair my ability to go with a different company down the road for additional undercarriage protection. For example, because the Tactical sliders extend so far toward the "middle" of the vehicle's center line, they might interfere with another smaller guard, like something meant for the tranny or sump. Have you added any other pieces of Tactical's products for your undercarriage?
