Gas smell after driving. No error codes. No visible leaks.
Damn! just leaving for vacation tomorrow and noticed the gas smell last night. I don't think a 7 hour ride would be safe so we are going to have to take wife's car. No boards or bikes - hopefully rentals will be good enough. Glad I have this info to take to the dealer when I get back. -

Thoughts on sunroof drain tube issues?
Well I had water after a big rain again so I will have to try to clear the tube and I may pull out the foam thing in front of the outlet to see if that helps as well. -

I just had the same thing happen with my 2012. I keep it outside and just had water intrusion after one of our many afternoon thunderstorms. I took off the side vent and pulled the foam out to check the tube and it seemed clear but there was a ton of small oak leaves stuck in the void between... -

I decided to keep my LR4 after all.
I am keeping my '12 as well - I love the V8 compared to my 2 previous LR3's. I will get a used '16 before the new Discovery or start looking elsewhere. -

I was looking into them as well but after the stock conti's I decided I would wait for more reviews over time. I decided to go with Goodyear Adventure at's yesterday (255-60-19). So far they seem nice but will comment after more time with them. Reviews have said the Goodyears have been good... -

LR5 Release Updates?
I just built mine with the same features as my '12 Lux and price is almost 80k. Looks like I will not be looking at these for a long time. I would probably get a slightly used '16 before on of these since they look just like all the other high dollar, egg shaped, soccer mom status symbols now...- MST

Got rear ended..
Had the exact same wreck last week. I couldn't believe the damage to the other car when I saw it. It just felt like a hard bump. Unfortunately there is a dent in the tailgate. Getting an estimate tomorrow... -

LR4 Cross Bars, Thule or LR ?

Transmission question
Turned out it was a leaking trans cooler line. Transmission was 2 qts low and line had to be replaced. I wonder how the dealer didn't see that when they did the inspection before putting it up for sale. Maybe they didn't inspect since it was under warranty? Oh well, hope this helps... -

Nice vid Umberto. I was just on Broken Arrow last week but unfortunately in a Pink Jeep! I would much rather have been in my LR4 but I live on the East Coast - maybe when I can do a cross country trip.... -

Thanks for the reply Umberto. I will let it warm up a bit longer in the morning and see if that helps. If I find something different at the dealer, I will post what they find. Fortunately I bought it with CPO so i am not worried.:smile: -

Hey Guys I just bought a 2012 HSE Lux w/ 45,000 miles and noticed in the morning on cold start and take off, the transmission holds low gear and when I give it some gas, it jumps into the next gear. Very rough and does not sound good but after about 5- 10 min. all is well and back to smooth... -

I have a 2006 w/ 90,000 miles. The day I decided to take it in to the dealer, it took 15-20 key turns before it started. It would have been a long tow if it hadn't started. -

I had the starter replaced last week and have not had a problem since. Total with tax was about $775.00. I guess I will consider that a Christmas present to myself.:frown: -

I take that back - I was able to locate a starter for 350.00 which after shipping will be about what LR quoted. Still not sure if I want to tackle the job without being sure that is the problem. I may have to leave it with the dealer overnight so they can replicate problem in the am. -

I haven't been able to locate the part at Atlantic or Pacific but I was able to find the process which included taking off the wheel, disconnecting the neg cable from batt. and removing 2 or 3 bash plates. Not sure if I want to get into all that yet unless it can be done in a day. I just... -

I have found similar posts to this but no definitive answers or diagnosis. I turn the key in the morning and get a click but no start. Radio and lights come on but no turnover. This happens as many as 5-6 times before it starts and when it does, it starts right away- no excessive drain... -

I also just got the Pirelli ATR's and have been very happy w/ them. I don't have any noise coming from mine - you might want to check out the alignment, hub, etc. -
