Damn! just leaving for vacation tomorrow and noticed the gas smell last night. I don't think a 7 hour ride would be safe so we are going to have to take wife's car. No boards or bikes - hopefully rentals will be good enough. Glad I have this info to take to the dealer when I get back.
Well I had water after a big rain again so I will have to try to clear the tube and I may pull out the foam thing in front of the outlet to see if that helps as well.

I am keeping my '12 as well - I love the V8 compared to my 2 previous LR3's. I will get a used '16 before the new Discovery or start looking elsewhere.

Had the exact same wreck last week. I couldn't believe the damage to the other car when I saw it. It just felt like a hard bump. Unfortunately there is a dent in the tailgate. Getting an estimate tomorrow...
I got the Yakima Whispbar and haven't had any noise with them yet. Much better than the old round bars I used to have.

Turned out it was a leaking trans cooler line. Transmission was 2 qts low and line had to be replaced.
I wonder how the dealer didn't see that when they did the inspection before putting it up for sale. Maybe they didn't inspect since it was under warranty?

Nice vid Umberto. I was just on Broken Arrow last week but unfortunately in a Pink Jeep! I would much rather have been in my LR4 but I live on the East Coast - maybe when I can do a cross country trip....

I just bought a 2012 HSE Lux w/ 45,000 miles and noticed in the morning on cold start and take off, the transmission holds low gear and when I give it some gas, it jumps into the next gear. Very rough and does not sound good but after about 5- 10 min. all is well and back to smooth...
I have a 2006 w/ 90,000 miles. The day I decided to take it in to the dealer, it took 15-20 key turns before it started. It would have been a long tow if it hadn't started.
I had the starter replaced last week and have not had a problem since. Total with tax was about $775.00. I guess I will consider that a Christmas present to myself.:frown:
Thanks JP - It seems no matter how much you want these issues to be the least costly of all the options, they never work out that way. I will probably bite the bullet next week.
I take that back - I was able to locate a starter for 350.00 which after shipping will be about what LR quoted. Still not sure if I want to tackle the job without being sure that is the problem. I may have to leave it with the dealer overnight so they can replicate problem in the am.
I haven't been able to locate the part at Atlantic or Pacific but I was able to find the process which included taking off the wheel, disconnecting the neg cable from batt. and removing 2 or 3 bash plates. Not sure if I want to get into all that yet unless it can be done in a day. I just...
I have found similar posts to this but no definitive answers or diagnosis. I turn the key in the morning and get a click but no start. Radio and lights come on but no turnover. This happens as many as 5-6 times before it starts and when it does, it starts right away- no excessive drain...
I also just got the Pirelli ATR's and have been very happy w/ them. I don't have any noise coming from mine - you might want to check out the alignment, hub, etc.
