Is this ligitmate? My local dealer (North Scottsdale AZ), and Land Rover North American is telling me that the only way to have a key replaced that works is through the dealer and laser cut in England. -

Key fob and key shank re-programming issues
I would like to know how you are getting quoted $320.00 for a new shank and programed fob from the dealer. I'm in the same situation with my 05 LR3 and I'm looking at $430 from my dealer. That's with $130.00 for programing (1 hour labor). What's the name of your local dealer? I'm being told... -

This is insane!!! Not only does the replacement key have to be laser cut in England, it also must be programmed by the dealer. They quoted me 1 hour of labor for an additional $130.00. I'll be out $430 + and 100 miles round trip to the dealer and that's just to order the key. You need to... -

Does anyone have a recommendation for replacing a key with remote? I called the dealer and they said they have to come from England where they are laser cut and they are over $300.00. They said there is no one in the US that can laser cut Land Rover keys. Please help. Thank you.
