thanks! i'll be carrying the oem spare so that won't be an issue but i'll consider the gearing issue. i'm not quite sure how that works though? how do wheels affect gearing? sorry if it's a stupid question.... -

thanks for the calculator! the difference between running 285/60s and 285/55's on 8 inch rims is that, since the sidewall is smaller there is less room for the tire to spread out to it's max width from the rim to the road. this is why i was concerned. according to the calculator though it... -

i know that they will fit, at least i'm pretty sure based on the searches i've done. i know for sure that 285/60/18 fits... and these are the same overall size but i'm not sure if the 285/55s will fit on these oem 8 inch wide rims. i know y'all are sick of tire threads but i haven't seen this...
