When I turn, especially right, I hear a tone / whine in rear

Hey Shane...I am a musician, and this should be sweet music to your ears, take that beast to the L.R. dealership, with all the paper-work and history you can find, and ask them to please repair it under the 50K mile warrantee...and watch the fun begin! Do NOT let off the pressure, be really NICE...

    Advice

I really found that a warrantee is QUITE valuable...my 2001 D11 received over $12,000.00 of replacement engine and transfer case. If they really want to sell you this vehicle, do as Melissa encourages....low-ball em! with gas at a premium, and the new L.R. models arriving, they will want to turn...

How much do you want for the extra assembly? My 95 D1 is acting the same way....it sometimes stalls after start-up....

    Major overheating problems.

That sounds unusual....water-jacket leak on intake side, should have also caused an injection problem?,(very rough running) also, water in oil....is your oil like chocolate milk? I am probably very incorrect...Sergei? Andy? Melissa? Mike?

    Installation of Oil Pressure Guage/Firewall

Andy, what oil-pressure guage ( type/brand) is the best application for my 95 D1? Anthony

Hi Shane...how many miles? please describe the noise...(whine, clunk, whistle, ticking??).....

    Clattering noise in 95 Disco

There is an old expression...."Don't put new wine into and old wine-skin, lest it burst" When you replaced the rocker assembly, there are newer metal to older metal worn parts that have no option but to make thier presence known...in this case, with noise. An adjustment is probably in line, or...

    Major overheating problems.

Freeze plugs could GUSH, if they get worse.....they will empty a cooling system quickly. They are easy to install (depending on location) and they are known to leak slowly for a loooong time, causing lots of corrosion, then they let go...check it out!

    Front Spring Swap Advice?

Hi Andy, I'm also getting ready for "old Man E-mu", I hear they are pretty cool? Also, the exchange is supposed to be pretty easy?....I hope so!...I'm going to try the "medium" as I tow my boat, and 4x4 trailer. Let me know what you find out, other brands? Thanks. Anthony

    Disco-sabotage..

Hi Monty...It's not a dealership, it's a local business. If you have ever lived in a small community, you will understand the nature of my discretion. I have outlined a message on "misc." that might make this clearer?...Thanks for your input !!

not "weirdo" Sergei...you just have a good sense of justice.

    "Expose the crooks" post.

It has been brought to my attention that a "dedicated fraud post-line" consisting of complaints, and warnings relating to repair -fraud and mechanic's abuse in our local areas should be made available to the viewers of this web-site. I am not the person able to make such a decision, but I feel...

    Disco-sabotage..

O.K guys....lets "get-em!". If it is the general consensus of the forum to create a vigilante post-line, then by all means proceed. I think it is a fine avenue for "venting", and it might encourage members to assist in exposing this type of abuse. Please make an appeal to the moderators with a...

    Disco-sabotage..

I am organizing a Land-Rover "meet-up" in Knoxville....everyone there, and here communicate about problems like this....your idea about a "blacklist" of dealerships, and private repairs is O.K., it's just a matter of proving it if the offended saboteur decides they are going to sue for...

    No spark???

Whew! thats lots of ifs.....What motor? ,same year?, so many issues possible.....make sure all of your sensors are clean, dry and that it isn't necessary to run some sort of test at the LR shop to get it going?....You will get help here, but it's like asking someone to bring your new rebuilt...

But now that I think about it, I might give a little info....it's the only transmission, engine, and after-market repair shop in Crossville Tennessee.

    Disco-sabotage..

Since I live in a small Tennessee town, and there are only three L.R. owners, I choose to remain anonymous so that the explosion isn't traced to me.........sorry, bad answer in these times, but I would like to just kick his ass.

    Disco-sabotage..

I caught a mechanic salting my oil-pan bolts after having a tranny-flush and oil-change. I noticed an oil-leak almost immediately after the service, and I tightened two hard to reach pan bolts, (the ones between the engine and the tranny) and they had been almost completely removed. When I...

    Major overheating problems.

Go to the pharmacy, ask for "sodium Hydroxate", It's liquid glass....make sure your leak isn't from the obvious places....hoses, radiator, w-pump, and poor 2 ozs of this stuff into your radiator while it is warm and running. Close the system and let it work. This stuff will seal any head-gasket...

    Radio Codes

I think you can go to L.R. with your radio's serial # to retrieve the code......if not, put it in an oven and buy a new c.d./a.m.-f.m.player that eliminates your worries. If you are a restorative-obsessive, call L.R. and ask them for a replacement...I.m sure they will have $omething!

    Borg Warner ignition wires

I will change my wires and plugs when I see an "under the hood light-show' at night....or get a shakey idle. Right now, I am using Accels, and they are doing the job. 8mm wires with a quality coating and plug jacket are what works for me.
