Oil leak
On my 07 4.4 it started leaking oil rather suddenly a few nights ago and marked it's territory in the garage. I found the source of it, but I have no idea what it's called. The oil filter screws onto what I believe is the cooler and then the cooler connects to this piece that mates to the engine... -

Front axle seal leak
I have a leak where the CV on the passenger side connects to the intermediate shaft....the "barrel" of the CV is damp. I read somewhere that the seal is integral to the CV axle, is that true? Thanks! -

instrument pack going "dark"
Sounds like either that or bad connections on the battery. Had a similar gremlin in one of my Jeeps and I think it was the battery cables. -

Got a P2406. Could this be caused by a leaking EGR valve? The indy I use said the EGR valve is leaking (when he was diagnosing some other issues)- could this be the cause? -

I just put in some Redline SL-1 fuel cleaner that looks highly rated...and found it locally. Hopefully this will work. One other thing that I've noticed that could be related to this is a a surge/stutter at like 5500 RPM. -

My private LR mechanic wants to move to synthetic oil. Shall I?
My dealer used to use Valvoline dino 5w30 when I got the free changes. Now I use either that or Castrol GTX since that's what the cap says.
