    Steering Column ECU

There is not an actual "pin" in the lock cylinder, it is and entire motor assembly. I can't say for sure, as I have not tried this before, but I do not believe the vehicle will start due to the steering column ECU not "seeing" the rolling codes from the key transponder. About the steering...

    Hood Latch Sensor

There are 2 small tabs on each side of the sensor. They are accessible by removing the front grille. Push down on the 4 locking tabs at the top. Then there are 2 more tabs to pull up on on either side of the grille, in the middle. Pull these up and pull the grille out towards you in one motion...

    2007 Land Rover LR3 SE

LR3's don't seem to have too much going on around 60k. The most common things I've seen close to that mileage is leaking radiators, front differential pinion seals/axle seals, rear axle seal leaks, and EAS compressors. Other than that the LR3's and Sports are pretty solid.

    Land Rover Technician saying "Hello"

Hi everyone. I have been floating around on this site for a few months now, but just now getting around to formally introducing myself. My name is Erik and I am a Certified Land Rover Technician. I'm also a Certified BMW technician, and ASE Certified Master Technician. Just wanted to drop a line...

    Steering Column ECU

The steering column ECU is actually the steering column lock/ECU all integrated in cast aluminum to the steering column assembly. Unfortunately, there is no way around but to purchase a new steering column. The good news is that the steering columns are not VIN specific, so you may be able to...

RR Sport Wiper Damage from Snow

No problem. I had many of those in the winter time. Good to hear it was at no cost to you!

    2003 range rover

Yes, the fill plug is on the passenger side rear of the transmission, just above the fluid pan. When you fill it, fill it until it comes out. Start the car and put the shifter through the different gears and hold it in each position for a few seconds. WITH THE CAR IN PARK AND THE CAR STILL...

    2006 Supercharged - Emission Code

What is the last 8 of your VIN number? There is a bulletin out for certain '06 Range Rovers with this code for updated PCM software calibrations....

    leaning front suspension

FYI 9/10 times the L/F air strut is the first to go. An easy way to tell is when you are at a standstill, hit the throttle about halfway quickly. If you can hear/see the L/F tire spin, you are going to need to replace that air strut assembly.

    Oil Change Notification

Unfortunately, it's not possible to reset the service indicator on an '06 Sport through the instrument cluster; your technician needs to reset it via SDD. You can reset '08-'09 Sports through the cluster, '02-'05 full size Range Rovers through the cluster, and all LR2's through the cluster.

RR Sport Wiper Damage from Snow

If you have tightened the nut completely, and the wiper arm still moves freely, you are going to need to replace the wiper transmission, not the wiper motor.

    Anyone have this problem?

Physically pull the connectors out of the amplifier. You may not actually see water on or around the connectors, but if there has been water leaking there, the pins on the amp and the terminals at the end of the connectors will have a green corrosion on them. I have also had many full size Range...

    Metal Valve Caps

Here in Ohio I have seen a LOT of seized caps. The metal valve stem cap will corrode to the aluminum valve "stem" of the TPMS sensor. Once this starts, usually it will also seize the schrader valve inside the sensor thus making it unable to re-use if a tire needed to be replaced. There are...

Has anyone replaced suspension compressor themself?

Overall not that difficult of a job. There is one hidden bolt above it. Once the entire compressor bracket is down you may find that one of the screws for the mounting bushing is frozen. Nine times out of ten this bolt will break. I've always drilled the bolt out, ground down both sides of the...
