    2012 RRS supercharged oil recommendation

I have an additional question..... what is the actual recommended frequency of oil changes. Because the engines are supercharged, does it require more frequent changes? The manual says one thing, but I wonder what is actually best for the vehicle. I have a 2017 RRS and plan to keep it awhile...

Gear Box Not in Park Warning!

Arque and others.... not fun going through all of this. As you say, $80,000 for a car and you would hope that this does not have to happen, or could be fixed easily and proactively! I have owned LR products for some years now and for the moment want to remain optimistic that a fix is on the...

Gear Box Not in Park Warning!

Still optimistic that the software fix sometime in June will eliminate the problem. So strange, only occurs about 25% of the time. I can go almost a whole day without it happening. Arque..... did you invoke the lemon law with this issue? Status.

Gear Box Not in Park Warning!

I just purchased a 2017 Range Rover Sport and about half the time when I approach the vehicle to enter with my key, the warning message Gear Box Not in Park appears in the center of the dash. After about 10 seconds it goes away. No problem starting the vehicle. Does not happen all of the...

    Tailgate Open Fault Alert

Thanks. Unfortunately not a DIY guy. I have seen some posts that suggest this repair can be reoccurring. Certainly hope not. My guess is another $600. Trying to de ide when to trade in my vehicle which has 93,000 miles. I love it V8 etc.... and certainly not going to buy new Discovery first year...

    Tailgate Open Fault Alert

I have started to get the "Tailgate Open" alert on my dash. When I try and open then close the tailgate I am unable to even open it. It seems locked shut. If I turn the car on, open and close the locks then try and open the tailgate it will usually open. Once opened however, I go through the...

    Annoying Squeaking Noise

All of a sudden I have developed an annoying squeaking noise that is difficult to diagnose. I hear the noise at speeds under 30 mph... sounds like something needs oil? No relation to touching brake pedal. Noise is also erratic.... does not occur all of the time. That is the frustrating part...

Volume on Nav System - Help

I can't seem to lower the volume on the voice prompts for my nav system. While the voice is speaking I can lower the volume with the knob, but then when a new direction is being announced the volume is very loud again. 2011 LR4, very reliable, but this situation just cropped up. Any...

    Last warranty service - Report

I believe that there was a TSB on the water pump. My 2011 had it replaced at 58,000. I had an extended warranty, but service manager said it would have been covered due to defective pumps. If leaking I would replace ASAP. Good luck

    On the subject of warranties

I think the deal that I got of an additional three years or 85k for $3800 is pretty good. My vehicle has 47000 on it now and was purchased over 2.5 years ago. The warranty was purchased from LRN and is complete bumper to bumper. Should get me in to the new model year for the lR4 or may consider...

    Rubbing Noise from Steering Column

All of your replies have been very helpful to me. Thanks! I mentioned the noise again to my service advisor and will be bringing the car in within the next few weeks. Regarding the warranty... I bought one through my LR dealer for $3800. It is a CNA product, bumper to bumper which will...

    On the subject of warranties

I am still debating whether to go for a 3yr/85K warranty for about $3900!!!! Help me think this through. I have never purchased extended warranties before, but think that it might be a good "insurance" policy? Or should I just put the money aside myself? Hope someone who has acutal...

    Rubbing Noise from Steering Column

I very much appreciate your response. I was concerned because I do remember a TSB having been issued and when I mentioned it to my service manager he said it was a major operation. Something about having to take apart the entire steering column. How best should I describe this situation...
