2012 RRS supercharged oil recommendation
I have an additional question..... what is the actual recommended frequency of oil changes. Because the engines are supercharged, does it require more frequent changes? The manual says one thing, but I wonder what is actually best for the vehicle. I have a 2017 RRS and plan to keep it awhile...- GBRover

Arque and others.... not fun going through all of this. As you say, $80,000 for a car and you would hope that this does not have to happen, or could be fixed easily and proactively! Gear Box Not in Park Warning!
Still optimistic that the software fix sometime in June will eliminate the problem. So strange, only occurs about 25% of the time. I can go almost a whole day without it happening. Arque..... did you invoke the lemon law with this issue? Status.- GBRover

I just heard from my dealership and Land Rover has informed them that it is a software issue and a fix should be available very soon!- GBRover

Gear Box Not in Park Warning!
Sorry to hear that you are experiencing the same thing. Just a few days ago, my warning notice changed to "Gear Shifter Not In Park". I updated my service tech and they are in touch with Land Rover. Let's keep in touch please.- GBRover

I just purchased a 2017 Range Rover Sport and about half the time when I approach the vehicle to enter with my key, the warning message Gear Box Not in Park appears in the center of the dash. Tailgate Open Fault Alert
Thanks. Unfortunately not a DIY guy. I have seen some posts that suggest this repair can be reoccurring. Certainly hope not. My guess is another $600. Trying to de ide when to trade in my vehicle which has 93,000 miles. I love it V8 etc.... and certainly not going to buy new Discovery first year... -

Thank you for your response. I am at 90,000 miles now. Out of my extended 85,000 warranty. Hope this is not too expensive to fix. Really want to keep my LR4 because I absolutely love it and hope repairs do t increase. -

Annoying Squeaking Noise
All of a sudden I have developed an annoying squeaking noise that is difficult to diagnose. I hear the noise at speeds under 30 mph... sounds like something needs oil? No relation to touching brake pedal. Noise is also erratic.... does not occur all of the time. That is the frustrating part... -

Last warranty service - Report
I believe that there was a TSB on the water pump. My 2011 had it replaced at 58,000. I had an extended warranty, but service manager said it would have been covered due to defective pumps. If leaking I would replace ASAP. Good luck -

On the subject of warranties
I think the deal that I got of an additional three years or 85k for $3800 is pretty good. My vehicle has 47000 on it now and was purchased over 2.5 years ago. The warranty was purchased from LRN and is complete bumper to bumper. Should get me in to the new model year for the lR4 or may consider... -
