    LR3 / LR4 OEM All Weather Mats

***SOLD*** Traded in my LR4 over a year ago, and still have the all weather mats sitting around. (The carpet mats were in it when I traded it) These are for the first and second row, and include the plastic "screws" that go into the carpet. No signs of wear at all, like new other than a...

Questionnaire and my LR4 Gas Mileage Theory

Our LR4 is used primarily by my wife, and about 95% of her driving is around town. I don't keep close track of the mileage she gets, but I can assure you that it it isn't even remotely close to 19 MPG. Our old Lexus GX470 would get about 15 around town, give or take. The LR4 uses...

    Help a newbie...

The existing hooks are just screwed into the carpet. Pry up on them a little while unscrewing them, and they should come right out.

    Experience installing short roof rails

Yes, you have to remove and trim the tracks when installing short rails.

    Experience installing short roof rails

I have silver (Arctic white LR4), and installed them myself. I originally wanted black, but found a deal on a set of silver ones on e-bay and picked them up. I'm happy with the silver rails, and probably would have been equally happy with black. CaptainSpalding - you are absolutely correct...

    Updated GPS $248.95!!

The idea of using a portable GPS or smartphone in a vehicle with a factory nav gives me the mental image of the little TV sitting on top of the big, broken 1970's console TV.

    OEM rubber floor mats

Completely agree with this, and it's exactly the same reason I went with the OEM cargo mat.

    Nav Update

You are certainly entitled to your opinion on the subject - no arguments on that. I was just making the point that charging for a map database update is not at all unique to Land Rover, and their pricing is pretty much in line with other car makers that I've had experience with.

    Nav Update

I never updated any of them on my previous cars, and won't update the LR one either. For as little as I actually use the nav, and how I use it, it isn't worth it to me. I've also never seen a map update that had any impact on the nav interface / functionality.

    Nav Update

What other vehicles have you owned with a factory installed nav unit? I've had a Lexus, Volkswagen, Acura, and the LR4 with nav, and map updates weren't free on any of them. The $250 that LR wants for the update is about the average of what all the others got. (I think it was $300 or $350 for...

    leather cleaner

I have Leatherique and it works well, but is a PIA to use on a regular basis. For normal, day to day cleaning and conditioning, I just use Lexol.

    Land Rover Sucks!

Been there, done that. I owned a GX470 before the LR4, and the reliability was not what I'd describe as "iron-clad."

    getting a new LR4..help!

Same dealer I got mine from. They were great to deal with at the time of the sale, but I was curious to see how their service was. I just had the truck there for service for the first time, and they were great. No issues at all.

    Lr4 Brakes

The notes on the work order say "per bulletin 00402", which is the same one referenced in this thread: http://forums.landroverworld.org/showthread.php?t=22431

    Lr4 Brakes

My LR4 is at the dealer right now (for the first time since I've owned it) for vibration in the steering wheel under braking. The truck has about 7500 miles on it, and after reading about all of these rotor / pad replacements at insanely low mileage, I was expecting to be told it was "normal...

    Should I Go For It?

We got our LR4 in May, and it's never been back to the dealer since. That said, I agree with baobay...I wouldn't buy any new vehicle where the dealer was 3 hours away. Any make can have issues, I don't care what their reputation is. (The Lexus GX I had before this being a perfect example) To...

    Heated Windshield

Count me as another one who hates the heated windshield....it drives me nuts at night. If I drove the truck all the time, I imagine I'd get used to it. Fortunately, my wife drives the truck 95% of the time, and she doesn't notice the lines. She also just got to use the heated windshield...

Height of Rover Cross bars vs. Thule/Yakima Option

I just measured my OEM cross bars. They add 3 3/4" to the height of the truck.

Full Length Roof Rails Bright Finish

I have a similar situation with my OEM cross bars - they have to be all the way forward for my ski box to clear the rear window. If I leave them in that position, they make some noise. If I slide them back 2 positions, they seem to be quiet.
  23. R

Full Length Roof Rails Bright Finish

Have you tried moving the cross bars forward or backwards to different positions?

    Impressed with Towing (6600lbs)

If your boat / trailer combined weigh in at 6600 pounds like you said, then your tongue weight should be over 550 pounds, since ~ 10% is recommended.

    Newbie needs info

I don't think you'll find a difference in noise between short and long rails. It's what you put on the rails that's more likely to make the noise. (OEM cross bars, aftermarket cross bars, cargo basket, etc.)
