    My Love/Hate relationship with LR

It does sound like you've had more issues with your local salesman ect, than th vehicle itself. It's hard to gauge an entire brand on one vehicle but alas that's what some do. I've been working at a dealer for some time and I can't think of any time where someone had a vehicle in every...

how long should front rotors last?

That's such a huge variable and is so dependant on a number of factors to include personal driving style. My wife can't keep rotors longer than 15K-20k miles. I've never replaced mine in almost 75K.

    Ruling out the possibilities

From a dealer parts guy, it's actually pretty common. There is one piece of glass that IS NOT laminated on a Land Rover, at lot of people think it's the sunroof or the panaramic glass, and they're wrong. These things are surprisingly hard to break into, and only get harder as Land Rover goes...

    255/65r16

I've got a set of L255/65R16 Michelin LTX M/S, brand new we're just tired of them sitting on the shelf. If someone would like this I'm selling them at $160 a piece which works out to $640.00 for four new tires +shipping (unless you want to come get them in Ohio). As long as this is up we're...

    Side Steps

Most of the time the dealer's justify their prices with the fact the dealer will warranty/back-up the product. Because they've certified them 'genuine'. They're normally made by reputable companies such as Thule makes a lot of our roof equipment. Thule is -sometimes- not the easiest business...

    Ruling out the possibilities

Wow, the glass on Land Rover's are pretty serious. I don't want to believe that any kind of temperatic condition caused this. Looks like fould play but it's missing an impact point from what I can tell in that image. In Ohio, U.S.A., some others and I were just talking we've never seen...

    Quotes & Updates

Morning! As I mentioned before, if you ever need a quote from a dealership, I'll make that that happen. These are the easiest ways I've found to get quotes built and sent back to you: 1. email/msg/fax me your year and model of your Land Rover (2010 Range Rover), ensure if you have a...

    Print Outs

Land Rover has finally has had us move to the newer, more fancy, online version of the parts catalog. Where it is a learning curve for me, it is much more of a convenience for you. If you email me your vehicle year and model (obviously VIN helps the most or at least last 8 of the VIN) I...

HELP.....2007 RANGE HSE SC error message

Are you driving with the suspension jacked up in off-road mode? I know it seems like a no brainer but if you try to lift it all the way up and drive. It only goes to about 30mph, before it tries to lower it for better aerodynamics. If it's in normal height, it tries to adjust it at about 40mph.

Freelander 2003 Pass window not working

I can help out more if you send me a VIN but from what I'm looking at it looks like you have to buy the full regulator assembly. Level of difficulty really depends on your level of technical experience with the vehicle. Do you refer to easiest thing possible changing wipers or changing...

    Parts From the Dealer

So I know a few people here have asked me for quotes on a few things and I always respond as quickly as I can. Always will, I check this pretty routinely. I wanted everyone to know a few things: I will always sell Land Rover O.E.M. accessory parts at list price, which is round about what...

Am I Crazy? Just received a "used" product.....

Wow, I can't even imagine a dealer doing that! We would be strung up where I work at haha. We sell 'em as they're traded-in. I do work at a bit of a higher line dealer though.

Am I Crazy? Just received a "used" product.....

:( This is the kind of stuff that makes me sad. It's why I generally advocate getting your parts not from the cheapest source but buying 'cheap' parts from a reliable source (parts stores where you can see someone or some place that is a solid part of the Land Rover Community). Internet...

    air suspension leak

Just as a side note make sure to spray the soap on the fittings too not just the lines. You probably are but I keep seeing people use the term 'lines' and just want to be sure. Normally a drop on both sides can be the valve by the compressor, unless as stated earlier, you might have...

What should I fix first?? Please help

I'd never seen that before but that gives even me another source! Thanks for that link! They have pretty competitive prices too! It's easier to order via P/N on there though too. I just went down and did a side by side comparison to dealer prices vs. their prices and 95% of the part...

What should I fix first?? Please help

Be skeptical of parts places online that don't have a solid company. I just noticed earlier that a guy who had bought his parts and was bragging about how much cheaper he got them on eBay as opposed to his dealer. When I pulled up the part (being a dealer) I noticed I could have got them...

Black LR3... scratch concerns at car wash

Keep in mind not all car wash's are created equal either. Some places offer some jet-spray washes that do pretty good. You did buy into a pretty awesome off-road vehicle though. Many people here would rather scratch and dent if it gets them to where they want to go :).

What should I fix first?? Please help

Transmission leak/sleeve and pan= $1026.00 Crack in drive shaft boot= $720.00 Small leak front differential = $215.00 Do these all together as one expense so that whatever they knock out of alignment in doing these they will re-align with the alignment service. Ball joint bushings =...

1997 Discovery won't start if check engine light on dash isn't on position 2 of key

Is there a seal right along the edge of the fender? It should make contact with the hood. If the seal is worn out, or not there, water can go right down on the computer. I think there was a technical bulletin that came out for this issue years ago to, might be worth checking into.

    2011 LR4 - Oil Pan Drainplug Picture?

How many plugs (bolts) are you looking at? It's attached to a pan which probably has many more bolts in it. Take it out, if it pours out black liquid, you struck gold. If it's any other color, just put the bolt back on and never admit it, and try again on another bolt. :)

    Recommendation for first time buyer

Well I can tell you you're right on purchase dates of ownership but from a Dealer stand point we actually refer to the 2003-2005 as the BMW years, because that's when the engines were made by BMW and top ends are a bit of a problem on them.

    7,000 Mile Oil Change?

A lot of newer vehicles that do not see harsh driving conditions are designed to go for longer driving between oil changes. Most people drive to and from work and sporting events, that doesn't even begin to test the durability of a newer engine. My wife's Jeep is recommended every 10,000 now...
