    Over Engine Creeper

Where to find???? I once used a strategicly folded a heavy sheet of cardboard to fit on top of the 4.0. I used it to replace the fuel pressure thing on the back of the fuel rail, and to check the coils. I have not heard of an "over the engine" creeper, I would like to see one, where did you get it?

    Disco Lift/tire size fitment Q's

Your stock 99 should be about the same off-road performance level as your modded 4runner, although it won't rust as fast as the Yota'. LOL. On the D1 a little OME goes a long way. I have OME x-hd springs, too stiff for my current weight. But it does give me room for 245/75/16's. With lift you...

    What are the differences?

SD was more of a "base" model, although mine (96') came with wood and leather. XD was a limited production, as stated above, built on the SD model. Most SE's I've seen have electric seats, factory fog lamps in the front valance, and sunroofs, and the SE7's are SE's with jump seats in the rear...

    Water sounds?

Revisit those A/c condesate drains, and check them both. Just because it puddles in your driveway doesn't mean that both drains are operating to the best of their ability. That is usually where I find the answer to my water-noise related problems. Also check the drains at the area near the...

    Electric Fan Addition

I used a Hayden #3690 electric. So far so good, no temp issues. I built a mounting for it that fits just inside the back of the steel radiator surround. I no longer have a fan shroud. I did this in december 04', so if I see temps rise as summer comes on, I will install another Hayden 3690 beside...

Looking at buying a mid-90s Discovery

    1. A green 1997. 2. As reliable as you maintain them/not as expensive as you think. 3. Great, as long as you like 13 to 17 mpg average. 4. Yes, downhill. 5. The best. 6. Yes, just search. True satisfaction from my Discovery didn't arrive until 18 months after I bought the vehicle. It took me...

Lights don't flash when alarm is armed

It is above the kick panel, behind the glove box, about three inches in from the passenger side. It's about 3x5x1, and you will be looking at the edge when you find it. I think it's actually a security sys. ecu because the truck don't run w/out it. Mine was easy to find as it was making a "lamp...

Happened to me, too. Tight trail, stiff trees. I am looking for a more durable replacement myself, if I can find/fit one. Does any one have the answer? Thank You, LRW.

Lights don't flash when alarm is armed

My Discovery has done that a couple of times over the last three years. I think there is a problem in the door lock ecu. Mine always went back to normal after a couple of days/bumps/creeks. I one event, it decided to start flashing during a wheeling weekend in the national forest! Everyone was...

Hello, All! Where does one go to locate the "Vehicle Speed sensor" on their 96 Discovery? I'm suspecting problems w/ this item and would like to check the contacts, values, or if it is even still there! I am thankful for any help on this issue.......Thank You, LRW. :hello:

installing rear jump seats 97 disco

Hey Rick! I Looked @ Steve's rear a/c jumps, the passenger side is the same on all, but the driver side does require a non a/c surround & non a/c seat brackets, though the seat is the same. There are a few good rovers salvagers out there, Rover Cannibal, British Recycling, etc. Check the "parts...

installing rear jump seats 97 disco

Rick, You want two tan leather jump seats, w/ tan surround, non A/C? correct? I will keep my eyes open & post back as soon as I know something. A friend of mine has mentioned removing his jump seats. I will talk to him soon. Keep searching. LRW.

    New guy with a question

Hey Mike, I got a KAL Equip. OBD II scanner from the local Napa auto parts store. Works great, has freeze frame, & code library, turns off "check engine light" when you're done. I keep a paper log of my "cel" occurances for future referance. Any good code reader will do, but I feel that I got a...

    Front Spring Swap Advice?

Hello! I didn't disconnect my sway bar either. I put a small jack somewhere between the radius arm & the frame, pushed it down until the spring could be lifted out, and stuffed new one in. Good Luck, LRW.

    Borg Warner ignition wires

Sergei, Here's the P/N for Taylor wires, off the box they came in 073253 and it says as the description; Spiro-Pro Univ 8 cyl 135D Red. I noticed the date on the box was 5/28/02, but they should still be the same. Good Luck, LRW.

    Borg Warner ignition wires

Hello Sergei, I'm not sure, but I think I have a set of them B/W's on my RV. The engine is in such a hole that I hardly see them @ all. They have worked great ever since I installed em'. They were probably the only decent wire available "over the counter" when I "tooonned up" the RV 4 or 5 years...

    Borg Warner ignition wires

Sergei-I don't have a distributor, but the wire set that I used came w/2 sets of boots/ends that I believe will fit about anything. I just used the ones that worked best. Thw MSD's & Moroso's are good wires, but I just like the way the Taylors have the spark plug boots molded to the wires. Good...

    External mirror replacement

Hey, Mark- I got one at A/B for only a couple hundred bucks & they are real easy to install, took about 30 minutes if I remember right. You don't have to remove the door panel though, just the triangle piece of plastic on the inside. Good Luck , LRW.
