    LR3 Rear Window Support Arms

I would hardly call this a safety issue worthy of a recall on a 17 year old vehicle. Even one rear gas strut working should have resulted in a 'controlled' descent rather than a 'crashing down'. I replace the hood and tailgate struts probably around every 10 years when they no longer positively...

    Aluminum crossovers exist now! (maybe)

I messaged EUROAMP asking if they planned to do the LR4 naturally aspirated 5.0L V8 and this is what they replied: Hi Robert, We would like to, but the mold for that pipe is very hard to make since everything is one piece. There seems to be a lot more demand than expected, so we may develop...

    K&N air filter?

I have K&N air filters in both my LR3 and LR4. No issues. These are the oil-less variety so no issues with oil fouling the MAF. For what it's worth, they sound better at full throttle :). Would I buy them again - doubtful, just because of the overall concerns with the finickyness of these...

    Timing Chain replacement

I'm getting to the same point. Any comments on what I should expect to pay for the timing chain guide replacement and new coolant crossover pipes. Independent shop not a dealer. Thanks

    Iland diagnostic tool Errors (10) AutoZone OS601 OBDII/EOBD (0)

I agree. I have the iLand and it always reports a bunch of codes, usually 'historic' that aren't serious or current enough to warrant the Rover reporting anything on the dash.

How to add Bluetooth, etc., to 2006 LR3 HSE

Sorry, I misnamed it. It's an Echo Auto, not an Amazon Auto.,

How to add Bluetooth, etc., to 2006 LR3 HSE

I'm not aware that there is more than one model/version? I have https://www.amazon.com/Echo-Auto--Hands-free-Alexa-in-your-car-with-your-phone/dp/B07VTK654B/ref=sr_1_3?crid=9LXR3Z70OTTP&keywords=amazon+auto&qid=1644853246&sprefix=amazon+auto%2Caps%2C83&sr=8-3 It's $19.99. Brilliant device...

How to add Bluetooth, etc., to 2006 LR3 HSE

I use an Amazon Auto in my 2006 LR3. I mount it above the radio. I power it from a USB charger port that I put in place of the cigarette lighter. It plugs into the Aux audio socket behind the central cubby. Set the radio to Aux. You then have 'Alexa' and Bluetooth audio from your phone. Makes...

LR4 Drivers Memory Seat 'access' mode

Brilliant. I'll check in the morning. Thank you. Now checked and it's exactly as you said. Staring me right in the face! Thank you very much. (you mention you looked it up - where? I looked in the owners manual in the memory seat section)

LR4 Drivers Memory Seat 'access' mode

When I turn off my 'new' LR4 HSE Lux, the driver's seat moves down and back, I assume to allow easier access. Unfortunately it also crushes anything/anyone behind the driver's seat in the process. When the engine is re-started it moves back to the selected memory setting. Does anyone know a...

    park brake fault

Hello C. Can you provide more information? So the park brake fault is intermittent and when it is reported the car won't start? How do you resolve it to get the car to the dealers etc.? Does the fault only happen if you use the parking brake?

    How do you sit?

Interesting reading. I'm 6'2" with a longish torso (32" inseam). I have the seat quite high and about midway front/rear. If I stretch my head touches the roof and I have to duck to see traffic lights if I'm first in line. All that said I find the LR4 seat very comfortable. I had a D2 with a...

    Engine Dies at 70 MPH

Given it wouldn't crank until some time had passed, and then started fine, it's pretty much got to be electrical. As stated earlier, a faulty fuel pump wouldn't kill the engine dead and wouldn't stop it cranking as far as I know. I had a '99 Dodge Durango that would cut out in a very similar...

Getting tires installed at Discount Tire - Lift Concerns?

There are a lot of 'scare' stories about airbags dropping etc. if the rover is lifted but its all misinformation. Many of us have wheels lose contact with the ground when off-roading and no ill comes of it (beyond scratches and dings lol). I've never seen any shop do anything special with my...

    Light Bar suggestions?

I agree with others who warn against roof mounted light bars for any driving purpose unless they are far enough back to not shine on the hood at all. I had a roof mounted lightbar on a D2 but it was almost worthless while driving because of hood reflection. It was awesome as a work light if I...

Coolant Low level alarm but level normal

I have to admit to being slightly nervous at present. After finally taking the time to fix the erroneous 'Low Coolant' warning, I have no warning lights or other fault messages on any of my three LR's. Something is sure to go horribly wrong very soon!

Multiple System Fault Code then Key Failure

I have mixed emotions when driving my LRs in the rain. Part of me is happy that I'm in a very safe vehicle, with great visibility and handling, while the other half of me is wondering what electronics won't work tomorrow. Ironic they can drive in 3 feet of water without a care (thank you LR!)...

Coolant Low level alarm but level normal

I had the same issue on an LR3. I replaced the sensor but the 'low coolant' warning would still come on, usually once the car warmed up. The sensor is actually two components, the 'stick' sensor that fits into a void in the bottom of the coolant tank and a 'float', fitted inside the tank around...

    LR3 or LR4?

lol! I'm looking at a 2008 V8 SE here in Houston for $7500 with 125k. My wife would kill me if I bought a 14 year old Land Rover for $35k. Of course she has a 2019 Discovery Sport HSE so 35k would still be a bargain :)

    LR3 or LR4?

Thank you all for your comments. I think a later model, low(er) mileage LR3 seems the best option for me to replace my V6 LR3. Now to find a white one... :)

    LR3 or LR4?

I have two 2006 LR3's, a V6 with 150k and a V8 with 135k. Aside from front bushings, neither has required any expensive work. Neither has ever left me at the side of the road. I'd like to get a newer vehicle but don't want to spend too much. That's putting me into 2011-2013 LR4 V8 territory BUT...

    2015 LR4 - Battery died, now doors won't lock

Good tip above to disable the dome lights (useful for drive in movie theaters too) but I also replace all my dome lights with LEDs. Brighter and a much lower current drain. On my LR3's it's one of the few things you can convert to LED without the computer reporting all kinds of weird faults.

Thoughts on 2021 Bronco as LR4 replacement?

It looks nice and competition is good but it's annoying Ford had to invent a new 'class' of vehicle so they could claim 'best in class'. In reality many specifications are inferior to a Defender (Approach, Departure, Wading, Towing) or our current LR3/4. Many of their specifications are also...

Tell an LR4 guy how to love that Defender rear door?

The tail gate is useful for, well tailgating, as a platform for loading stuff on the roof, and as a rain cover but at the end of the day I prefer my D2's swing door for everyday practicality. Just reaching over the LR3 tailgate to load heavy items into the rear is getting harder as I get older...
