Need advice on LR4 20 inch wheel tire options

Ah, I must've overlooked that, sorry. Reputable tire shops are perfectly fine. I actually refuse to go to the dealer for any tire related stuff, simply because my local tire shop is excellent and charges much less. I'd just ensure that your tire shop has/uses a touchless tire mount machine. The...

Need advice on LR4 20 inch wheel tire options

@ProTonez Hmm, that's odd. Mine have been very comfortable and vibration-free. They ride extremely well and smoothly compared to many other all-terrain tires on the market, which was one of the key reasons I bought them (especially considering the 285 width).

@ProTonez Many thanks, and I'm glad I could be of assistance. Awesome stuff—look forward to seeing pics of your ride!

    LR5 Release Updates?

I had a deep sadness while watching this video:

Need advice on LR4 20 inch wheel tire options

@ProTonez The rubbing only occurs when the wheels are turned just before and at full-lock. I wouldn't say it's loud, but you can hear it. For instance, you wouldn't be able to hear it with the radio or A/C on at certain levels. I haven't seen the 265s in the flesh so I can't really comment on...

Need advice on LR4 20 inch wheel tire options

Do a little research, and you'll find that many (including myself) run 285/50R20 tires. I am running Nitto Terra Grappler G2s and they rub a bit during the first 4-5k miles, but then starts to disappear. The rubbing isn't damaging anything, so it shouldn't be a cause for concern. If you want...

Drove the new Discovery and I'm totally confused now.

Wow, that's a shame! I absolutely loved my TDI Audi loaners I had in the past. When my cars were in for service, I always asked for 3.0TDI A6s or Q5s. The torque was fantastic, and chipped, they would've been a riot.

Slider Comparison; anyone used either of these?

I believe he sold them. If so, Voyager should now have another set available since I canceled my order, unless someone already snatched them up. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    LR5 Release Updates?

Saw one at my dealer today. What's funny about rear quarter shots of this car is that the ass looks 'in your face', but what's even funnier is that in person, that quarter really, actually is IN YOUR FACE. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Real world MPG on the LR4

I literally just filled up and got nearly 100 more miles out of this tank than I had been getting all winter long (same mixed driving). Looks like summer-grade fuel has arrived! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Slider Comparison; anyone used either of these?

Not much useful protection? Huh? While I was getting my oil changed today, a guy at my Rover shop told me that they have to charge 2 hrs of labor on LR3/4s that have Tactical sliders just to remove and reinstall them when they need to access the compressor for repair/replacement (and other...

Slider Comparison; anyone used either of these?

I placed an order for some Voyagers today. I spoke to the gentleman at Voyager earlier, and he said he'd gladly knock $100 off to leave them uncoated. I'm having my local powder-coater do them over properly, and they'll be sent to his business (which knocks another $100 off of shipping). I'm...

Favorite Roof Rack? (boats, boards and a storage box)

Yes, the hitch extension is very clever, but I can see why it’d be a bit of a nuisance. I don’t see why your new rack wouldn’t accomplish what you want, while being more secure. Looking forward to seeing some pics!

@toddjb122 I stumbled upon this in the LR3 section. Epic pic! Great-looking lab, rig, and setting. [emoji106] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Trailer Wiring

@ClearwaterScott Many thanks! As for removing the taillight, I recommend prying it from the inside (near the seal), then stick your fingers in and wiggle it until the little grommets come undone as you're pulling it off. Don’t pull too hard, otherwise it’ll likely fling off, and the sharp...

    Trailer Wiring

I thought it was a little ridiculous, too. Hell, my old Cayenne GTS came with one as standard. No worries, though. The harness install is straight forward, and Atlantic British provides very thorough instructions. I definitely recommend theirs. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Slider Comparison; anyone used either of these?

I spoke to the owner of this LR3 who bought these super minimalist aluminum sliders that Terrafirma used to sell a while back. Apparently he's rested the side of his rig on rocks and impacted their sides pretty hard without bending them. I feel that aluminum could be pretty damn strong at the...

Slider Comparison; anyone used either of these?

The compressor itself sits relatively high up, but the plastic shield is mainly prone to damage. I've seen two beat up LR3s with mangled plastic compressor shields that work perfectly. I think the Tactical setup is pretty overkill, unless you're doing some serious crawling up rock shelves and...

Slider Comparison; anyone used either of these?

I believe I'll be getting the Voyager sliders, and have my powder-coater give them a nice, thick coat. I've heard that the coat on them is pretty thin, so rock chips and small scrapes cause them to accumulate surface rust over time. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    LR4 Rust

Quickly snapped this pic of my '13 with 39k miles. It's been both a CA & CO vehicle, and I do try to power wash the undercarriage after ski trips and when there has been mag chloride/salt on the roads. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    LR4 Pre-purchase tips?

I suggest you keep an eye on the coolant level from time to time, just to make sure the water pump isn't seeping. My '13 went through two in just 7k miles, and the second could've caused catastrophic damage as it had a severe leak. My tech saw the super low coolant level and found where it was...

    LR4 Favorite Year?

My LR dealer here in CO is at 5.5k feet, and I test drove LR4s (on two occasions) with the SCV6 and V8, back-to-back. I was trying to decide whether to keep on waiting for the perfect '13 with HD pack and options/colors I wanted (which took forever), or buy a newer LR4... I remember expecting...
