    Showoff Your LR4

Haven't posted in a while but pulled the camper out this weekend for a short trip and took a few pix... MY2013 Land Rover LR4 with MY2012 Rockwood HW296

    Showoff Your LR4

Few pix of our June getaway to Colorado. Two are of how we got there and where we stayed... And the other two are pictures of why we go as often as possible...

    Towing with the LR4

Sadly, I'd have to recommend the Chevy for your needs. My previous vehicle was a Denali XL and an Escalade prior to that. We have the 2013 5.0 LR4 now and have pulled about 5000 pounds 5 or 6 times a year for the past decade with these vehicles. All three are excellent towers, but the extra...

    DIY Oil Change for LR4

^ ON EBay I see our LR specific oil for about $12.75 per quart at the translated price after shipping from the UK. I picked up a dozen quarts at the local LR dealership in the parts department for about $7.50 per... Not too bad...

    LR5 Release Updates?

Like our British friends say...Brilliant! Looks pretty sweet to me. Especially on the move. Once we see it on the road with different wheel and tire packages and colorways other than the Burnt Orange, and Grey option, we should get a better feel. I have to say, the rear tailgate and seats being...

    LR5 Release Updates?

I like it...Big 10 family. And another great state. More trees than I ever imagined... We camped at a real secluded campground at Warren Dunes and enjoyed the view of Lake Michigan on our first night with our new pop-up back in 2012. Actually have a Michigan decal on the back of the camper, so...

    LR5 Release Updates?

Longhorn...Agreed. They could have. And I wish that's the route they chose, but it looks like they're going the lemming route. Sometimes it's just easier to follow the crowd... Have we heard if it's a 7 or 8 seater yet? Hey Dan...It is cool that you get out into the world with your truck. If...

    LR5 Release Updates?

The Explorer did debut before the current models of LR's but the current design of the LR's has been something in the works for some time. One might even say that the current lineup is resembling the last generation Range Rovers. In fact the similarities between the vehicles are likely even...

    LR5 Release Updates?

I agree sometimes we make excuses for certain vehicles over time, but we also have the luxury of time in making our assessments with this methodology, rather than jumping to an immediate conclusion like we do with our initial impression. As to your comments regarding the new truck that we...

    LR5 Release Updates?

I tend to hold judgement on body shapes until the vehicle has been in circulation for about 18 months. Lots of times, our initial impression of a vehicle is better than it will be after we've been exposed to the model for some time. Think PT Cruiser... Super hot seller to a car nobody...

    LR4 advice

Yessir! Good luck...It is a tough one if the price is right. They're pretty sweet trucks...Let us know if you pull the trigger.

    LR4 advice

Sounds like the 2013 model may be the one to go after. It was the final year with the 5.0 V8 motor, which has proven quite reliable and a nice match for a vehicle of the LR4's weight. The LR4 also seems to be the model within the Land Rover lineup that experiences the fewest mechanical issues...

    LR4 V6 vs. V8 & Options

Fooraonfire welcome to the Forum... I can't comment to the differences in the 8 vs the 6, but I can report a bit about the strengths of the V8 versus other SUV's we've owned. First thing of note is how quick the LR is. In Sport Mode it's really a blast to drive, but not even necessary. The...

    Camping Trailer

Not sure the OEM hitch should have much play to speak of. Mine locks right in with really no play whatsoever... And your incline issue may be assisted if you thoroughly grease the ball portion. Good luck! I was pretty impressed with the OEM hitch. It locks right in and holds steady, despite...

    Camping Trailer

Very nice hybrid there...And nice setup overall...Your truck colorway matches the camper lovely... The island is probably very convenient when cooking and to just throw things on as you're coming and going. Nice... It looks like your slide-outs are at least 4 feet out as well. I bet that...

    Camping Trailer

Thanks guys... We've had this 2012 Rockwood High Wall for 4 years and it's been good to us. This is our 3rd pop-up and can't really see ourselves stepping up to anything bigger. This is the biggest pop-up on the market and we're diminutive people anyway, so it's really all we need. We also...

    Camping Trailer

Sweet setup Churious! Love the red trailer...Can't say I've ever seen one and I've been camping for decades... Very unique... Here's our setup... I towed with the LR for the first time over Memorial day weekend myself. The truck towed our unit beautifully and hitched up with the OEM hitch and...

    Live tire pressure monitoring

This is one of the few complaints I have with our truck... My wife drove an Escalade and a Denali prior to this which both had live tire pressure monitoring which was especially comforting when towing. I do miss the ability to see exactly what's going on down there in a matter of seconds...

WHEEL and TIRE DILEMMA WITH LR4's

Thanks...Your sounds pretty sweet as well. Love to see some pix as well...The 285 G2s probably make the stock rims look meaner than ever! Weren't you pleasantly surprised how quiet and smooth the G2's are? I like the rims we chose but I really like the tire choice. I'd be surprised if I ever run...

WHEEL and TIRE DILEMMA WITH LR4's

No we didn't... I'd think an 18" wheel with a wide variety of tire sizes would fit but I'm not sure if this particular rim style is available in 18" or if they're certified to handle the weight load. You might inquire at discount tire if you have on in your area...

WHEEL and TIRE DILEMMA WITH LR4's

You're right...Good point. I think it's another reason to choose a reputable seller like Discount Tire or Tire Rack because they won't even offer a wheel choice that doesn't match Land Rover's or any manufacturer's recommendations. The particular Voxx wheel we chose was rated to carry over...
