I think I may opt for the upgrade to vented brakes in the...
it was where the lines come down from the engine bay at the coupler - the hardline failed - looks like a vulnerable spot as its just behind the front tire mudflap but not completely coverd by the mud flap

are TRW OEM for LR's? (they claim to be)
I read the genuine brakes have the most bite.
(upgrading to 2" lift and 32" tires this spring)
Anyone have experience with TRW or Brembro.
real life experience with either compared to stock would be great.
(yes already upgraded extended brakelines -...
So I got lines installed - bleed the system - still have really mushy brakes.
I will note I can feel a 'lump' in the pedal/mc when pressing it.
I did not bleed the balancer valve for the front wheels. How do I do that? (Im guessing thats got air in it.)
thanks
I have a co-worker looking to by a DII.
I advised him of the cylinder sleeve issues.
questions:
1. are there certain years that they fixed this issue (DII series years)?
2. is the only solution re-sleeving?
3. are they really timebombs at about 120k?
I read this great write up.
thanks
any one know the stock length of the flex lines (brakes)?
gonna order custom ss braided lines and want to accomidate for a 2" lift soon to come.
thanks
thanks mike,
are these the lines from the Master Cylinder to the balancer valve and back to the ABS? (the valve it sits on the fender well under the MC? )- there are several short hardlines in that area - planned on doin them all since Im shaping so many -
thus far I counted only 4 rubber lines...
will check Napa - theres a few here in MD - thanks
yeah Rubber lines will get replaced aswell - Im gonna plan ahead for a 2 inch lift and get extended ones - prolly SS braided too

Hi All,
So my brakes went out a while ago and Im just getting around to fixing them.
The hard line or tube failed. I removed the ABS fuse a while ago.
I have removed the lines and am getting ready to make new ones but wanted to throw this out there to avoid any mistakes if possible.
So here's...
sorry for the cap's but I sorta need some quick advise/help.
my brakes just went out (fortunately pulling into a parking space) - completely to the floor - nothing - fluid leaking from a break line
I need to limp home about 10 miles when i get off work in about 4 hrs.
I read that using the...
ok so.
I bent a clip when I re-installed the shifter plunger clip (in the handle) - it came loose and the plunger was not coming up when the thumb button is pressed. So it was my fualt. - Easy fix. Too bad that was after the console was out.
thanks Joey - and all
so this morning when I arived at work I went to put it in park and it wouldnt go out of drive - I shut off the vehicle and went to work - tried it at lunch no difference

ok... (Mike I will be PM ing you soon)
Checked Fuses.. there is no fuse for this.
so I pulled the solenoid - t case works just fine... can move from HIGH to N on t-case no problem ( vehicle stationary so no LOW)
- tested Solenoid with 12vts - IN (works)
- tested Solenoid, connected to (but not...
long shot:
had a similar issue when I used 87 octane one time (it was fine for that tank) but when I used 93 the next time - sputtured choked and stalled
- pulled the battery for about 2 hrs (pretty sure I read it on here some where)
- (put it back in and...) started up just fine
84000 miles and they were OEM duralast -
note - I had this issue prior to replacing the wires thought the wires would solve it -
the arc seems to be coming from either under the wire boot or a hairline crack in the ignition coil
