I read somewhere the LR4 is rated at 600lbs.

    Sunroof drain preventative maintenance?

I would add, a few of times a year, open the sunroof and go around the gasket with a cloth and some silicone spray or WD-40, as well as the inside of the roof. Its amazing how much crap builds up in there.

At Long Last... Modern head unit!

Mmmm. Interesting project, but I think I'll stick with my 2010 OEM screen. The HK sound is plenty good, I don't subscribe to XM, I navigate using my phone or the Galaxy TAB mounted on the windscreen with a ram mount/suction cup (mainly for my off road mapping software) plus I like my CD...

    Good price or crack pipe?

Mmmm, after reading this thread I might be tempted to fix the EPB............Naaaah. On another note, the world is changing, and manufacturers will be following the gov rules, as an example, you will not be able to buy a new petrol or diesel car in Britain by 2030. Other countries will follow suit.

2 Q's AC condensate question and steering wheel

Probably dropping on the exhaust. Doesn't that condensation exit in the transmission tunnel?

    Wet Driver floorboard 2011 LR4

I would also add, if talking about the sunroof. When you wash the car, open up the sunroof and clean the rubber gasket with a microfiber cloth and some WD-40, also do the same with the sunroof opening; a good amount of crap can build up.

    Well crap!

I must be missing something. I don't see how this would fit. The crossover pipe is the pipe attached to the head underneath the manifold and comes forward to where it piped to the thermostat no? How does this now part fit underneath the manifold? The old (LR018275 attached pic) cross over pipe...

    Well crap!

I'm just wondering if you would even see a low coolant warning light before failure? I know when my water pump main bearing seal failed whilst driving along, I got a low coolant light before anything critical happened. I was able to pull over quick and walk to an Autozone for coolant. Got though...

    Mityvac...

Yeah, works well on my LR4, use it all the time. Measured the oil coming out and going in, and can confirm the Mityvac gets all of the oil. LR3 might be a little different with the oil pickup pipe location. Somethings about the Mityvac. 1. add a little Pex valve to the rubber adaptor end of the...

Why is the "most capable 4x4" so fragile ?

I'd agree with you on that. Mines at about 37.25, and yours has much bigger tires. One of the changes I made was to the circular vents at the bottom of each airbox; don't know how many of you have inspected those. I noticed a few years ago the rubbery compound LR had used had turned into a big...

    Oil Level Indicator - STUPID

I would invest in a mighty-vac and a few tools if you don't already have them. That way, change the oil yourself, save some money, and likely the equipment will pay for itself after a few changes. More importantly, with the mighty-vac you can see just how much is coming out, and thus how much...

what’s the fastest you’ve gone in your LR4

A lot has changed in the 14 years since you've visited the UK, unfortunately for the worst. There was a scene in the Topgear India special where Clarkson proclaimed if you had children and they got into trouble, the mother would say 'you just wait until your father gets home....' In India its...

what’s the fastest you’ve gone in your LR4

I've owned 5 international driving licenses due to the Army. If I were to rank your typical American driver, they'd be close bottom LOL. Let's face it, when you're in a row of traffic over here, and the light turns green, it takes 2 minutes for the 5 cars in front of you to move. In the UK...

what’s the fastest you’ve gone in your LR4

I'm not sure it did. I had my gap tool running in the suspension mode and didn't see any changes to the height. Whether the lowering would have been displayed I don't know. It was like driving on a mattress at that point, with so much movement, I wouldn't have been able to tell visually or by feel.

what’s the fastest you’ve gone in your LR4

I think it depends on who you are and where you grew up. Being a Brit, I'm used to fast. Look at those who live in Dubai. 100MPH is just a warm up for them. In fact that's only first gear on a BMW1000RR;)
