Towing with 2017 Discovery
You’ll be fine with no WDH. It sits level and handles great. I pulled a 33’ trailer weighing 7000 lbs over 3000 miles to the Black Hills with no issues. I did put on a sway bar system recommended by my RV dealer. Total setup was like $150.- Hawkigrad

My LR4 next to a new Discovery...
The gas engine is faster make no mistake. It hits 60mph a full second faster than the TD6. It's just very smooth so difficult to gauge acceleration. No need for TD6 as the reviews have confirmed. -

My LR4 next to a new Discovery...
The diesel gets 5mpg more than the gasoline. It weighs more, tows less, is slower and costs almost $10K more. No review out there has recommended getting it over the gasoline engine. You would never, ever come remotely close to making up the difference in gas costs with it. -

Got home last night after being on the road for almost a month with the D5. Now at 5000 miles and it performed without a hitch the entire time pulling the 28" surveyor trailer. So I drove the D5 from GA to the Midwest and finally put some miles on it. With 3 adults, 2 young children and a packed cargo area I got 21 mpg driving essentially 80mph the whole way on premium gas. The left side in the very back sticks out a bit farther due to the cilmate system I believe from looking around. I remember seeing it listed as having slightly less cargo space with 4 zone. It only takes up a small amount of space over the 3 zone. Honestly I don't get why they call it 4 zone...- Hawkigrad

It's funny as I originally planned to keep away from the 4 zone system as it slightly reduced the rear cargo space but then the dealer discounted my order by $2000 so I decided to get the cooled seats and thus 7 passenger climate option so I guess I got lucky. I'm a big fan of technology as well and it won't let you down. Some reviews have noted the Incontrol system seems sluggish but it is fine for me. I picked up a HSE about a week ago. I'm really impressed with how it rides and how quiet it is. No road noise, wind noise, and surprisingly very little engine noise.
