    2013 LR4 Suspension Compressor

I didn’t realize shena****ns was a word that needed to be bl*cked out, but apparently it was done for me!

    2013 LR4 Suspension Compressor

Typical dealership shena****ns, doesn’t matter what brand it is. A quality independent is always the way to go.

    2013 LR4 Suspension Compressor

I went through 2 aftermarket Hitachi style units from a reputable Land Rover specific parts house in less than a year in my LR3. They wouldn’t warranty the second one (even though it had a lifetime warranty) because they said I had an underlying issue (I didn’t). I bought a used OE AMK unit off...

    Unexpected LR4 project

To be fair, he bought a vehicle that was in a wreck. That’s as “as-is” as you can get. I’ve worked on enough to know this type of damage is very common in those situations and I highly doubt the seller was aware.

Is that the only alarm module in these?

    1996 Discovery alarm

A ‘96 Disco came up in the local classifieds: “Not running due to alarm box getting water infiltration. Ran fine until then. Bought a refurbished alarm box But don't know how to program it to the ECU.” They’re asking $600. I’ve owned a few D2s, but never a D1. What would it take to program...

    LR3 Dash Lights

What are you using to scan it with? If it’s just a generic OBDII scanner it probably won’t get you far. I personally use the Gap Diagnostics tool and would not even attempt to own a 3 without one.

How do you completely delete TPMS on 2007 LR3?, + other minor issue.

The GAP tool (or equivalent) is required owning a 3, in my opinion. It’ll fix your dash light (though errors will still show up if you scan for it). They are a pro level tool that can flash updates to the modules if necessary. If you’re adding a full size spare, I’m guessing you’re adding...

    What would you do?

Gap is VIN locked as well, but you can hit additional VINs. I do believe there is some basic functions that don’t require that, but I’ve never tested that myself. To the OP, if you’ve done all of this without the proper scan tool you’ll never solve it. Given everything you’ve done you probably...

Fog light and tire pressure and oarking sensor help

Sounds like a cut or break in the wiring harness to me. All three of those systems would likely run wires together.

numerous codes after lower control arms installed

100% it needs an alignment. I’ve done control arms twice myself on my 3 and it’s dropped to the bump stops both times on my way from home to the alignment shop.

numerous codes after lower control arms installed

I have a 3, but in this circumstance they are similar enough. If you hit something hard enough to skew the steering wheel off center by more than a few degrees, it will throw a fit. I have many miles off road, bounced off many a rock and have not had an issue. I do have a certain amount of...

Remind Me Again Why We Love These Things?

Certainly not apples to apples comparing my 3 to the 4, but I’ve got over 200k miles on items you’ve done preemptively under 100k. I’m currently at a little over 265k and I’m due to replace the original rear upper control arms and rear struts. According to Instagram experts I’m WAY out of the...

    catalytic converters replacement marketplace?

Have you just tried posting them to classifieds? Craigslist, Facebook marketplace or local? We’ve got a very good local marketplace (KSL.com) covering Salt Lake City, any time I’ve put anything exhaust related I’m inundated with questions about the cats. Interestingly they’ll pay too $$$ for...

    Compressor Brand

I had a problem with lucky 8 standing behind their aftermarket compressors. I had two fail in very short order, they said I had something else wrong and would not replace the last one. I put in a used AMK off eBay and have been running it for 2-3 years now

    2006 LR3 SUSPENSION HELP

There’s really no way around the cost. You can buy cheaper code readers, but they’ll be generic and certainly won’t help in this situation. Bite the bullet and buy one of the quality vehicle specific tool (I also recommend GAP), you need it to maintain this vehicle.

    Inner/Outer Tie rod ends replacement

I'm just ordering parts for tie rod ends and rear upper control arms. FCPEuro has competitive pricing on OE or OEM parts AND lifetime warranty on all their parts (including engine oil and filters). If a part fails you buy a replacement, send in the failed parts and they refund you for the...

Is HD package so useful in snow?

Generally speaking you don’t want lockers for snow, the ass end tends to come around on you. That said, you wouldn’t have that issue on this vehicle due to the previously mentioned lack of manual locking control and the traction control system.

    LR3 18" wheels on Defender 90

How about installing p300 rotors and caliper carriers? I know you can go down to 17” on the LR3 by swapping out those parts from the V6 model.

    Defender v Bronco v Wrangler

And I think you could do the same trails as that 90 you spoke of with the new defender on an 18/33” combo. By nearly every metric the new defender is superior to the old. I think they will and are shocking people at how capable they are when set up right. One can certainly make a case that Land...

    Defender v Bronco v Wrangler

I mean, Ok. Sounds like you are one of the guys that thinks the defender is a mall crawler that doesn’t deserve the name and I disagree. It seems like you’re being a little disingenuous with your arguments. I’m aware of at least some of the problems they had with their original defender. I’m...

    Defender v Bronco v Wrangler

They said in this video they couldn’t get one with a locker. It was pretty obvious they got none of the options that would make this competitive with the top off-road packages it was up against. No one will ever compare with a Jeep for rock crawling. Who else will ever be able to bolt on...
