I always take the cover off the bumper there and attach my chains to the tow ring (I guess that's what that is). -

How do you clean the throttle body? My LR3 tach is beginning to fluctuate when I'm driving normally maintaining speed. -
Transmission Fault
Today, I got the center console off, and finished drying all the connectors and used a blow dryer to ensure everything was dry now. The truck will come out of park and i'm able to drive, raise and lower the suspension, put it in 4L and 4H. However, none of the terrain control features work. Next... -
Key Fobs not working
That is how I first found out what the water leaks do to an LR3. My fobs did not work after getting the floor wet from the sunroof documented problems. The shop cleaned and lubed all my electrical connections on the floorboards. -

Did the hard reset, still getting the transmission fault (F) and all special programs are off and says limited gears available. Still can't get the transmission out of park. I also don't have the emergency release to get the LR3 out of park. I only have the parking break lever. Any other ideas -

Yea I already removed and dried out under the carpets and around the wiring harness. The sun roof wasn't vented, it was open like a convertible. The fault still hasn't cleared yet, i'm gonna disconnect the battery and see if that works. -

keyless remote
When my fobs did not work, was when I first realized the problem with the water intrusion. The independent LR shop I went with in SOCAL showed me all the corrossion at all the connection points under the carpets. The corrosion was what prevented my fobs from working. -

Windshield replacement
Safelite quoted me $460 for a heated rain sensor windshield for my LR 3 in San Diego. They did give me a 1st time user and military discount. -
How long do you plan on keeping your LR3?
I bought my 05 new back in fall of 04. Now have 65 K miles. I plan to buy a commuter car in a year or two and keep the LR3 just for boat hauling and camping. So basically don't plan to sell until it costs more to fix than replace. -

Warning lights and water
LR in its infinate wisdom put a wiring connection in the vicinity of your driver side rear tire. if you look behind the wheel into the undercarraige you should be able to see the connectors. If your the original owner, I would definately take it to the dealer before your warrentee expires. This problem is not a recall, the delearship will only fix if it's a customer complaint. -

Water pours out when I open door
check the sun roof drain, if you have the 05, and haven't had the mod, pull the intake vent cover off the passenger side. You will see the drain in the back portion, tear the foam so that it doesn't block drain.
