Update - got the manager from Napa Auto in Myrtle Creek to open the Napa Auto in Canyonville where they had the correct battery. Switched it out and voila, back on the road. They might make it in time for the last few minutes of the big game. Unless it's the alternator, in which case it...

    Faulty Remote replacement

No, they just mailed the remote part, without the blade (key part) which is why the dealer checks ID etc. The replacement the dealer sends has the remote and the key blade. My shop easily put the old key blade on the new remote and had the software to program the remote to the car.

    Faulty Remote replacement

I just though I'd share this. My wife and I had been having intermittent problems with the remote not opening the vehicle. This caused much panic in my wife, which was then directed to me. In looking into replacing the remote, it was $300.00 at the dealer, Seattle area, plus another $100.00...

    Turning rotors

I just took my 05 LR3 to Midas. Total was $230 without rotors for the rear axle. They also said the rotors cannot be machined but were in good shape. They used centex pads. Pads are free lifetime after this, just labor, for $100, I figured it was worth it. I changed all 4 sets last...

Alignment Defect / Uneven Premature Tire Wear

I replaced my tires at Discount Tire, my cost at 26,000 miles due to significant inside wear. I was told I was over the limit for LR to bear the cost but they took care of the alignment when it was in for a service issue. The dealership in Bellevue, Wa has been good even though I...

    Back Up sensors - erratic?

My LR3 is 2005. I don't depend on the sensors alone but they should pick up things below the view of the tailgate. I have a lot of small children around also and I make sure none are anywhere close when I'm backing up.

    Back Up sensors - erratic?

Has anyone else noticed erratic behavior with these sensors? They do not engage every time the truck is put in reverse. I've had the dealer look into it and they said it functioned properly. It seems that a sequence of steps needs to be followed for the sensors to turn on, namely step on the...

    Latch in 2006 LR3 HSE

You guys have me thinking about this now. The car seat seems very sturdy when attached in this manner, more so than when attached using the seatbelt. In thinking about where a problem might arise, I suppose it may not be secure in a crash because it would be attached to the seats on either...

    Latch in 2006 LR3 HSE

I use the center position in the second row by attaching to one of the latch anchors on either side seat along with the rear anchor. Very secure and easy with the Recaro Young Sport car seat. When cinched down, the car seat does not move. I does create an issue when accessing the 3rd row as...

    "Transmission Fault" Explained

I've had multiple transmission faults, traction reduced and had had numerous software resets.
