    Poor man’s CarPlay installed

Gotcha-and thanks. For sure will post pics of my solution regarding logo.

    Poor man’s CarPlay installed

Here's some pics. I flipped the arm of the suction cup around as well-seems to be a better angle for getting it lower on the dash. Next is to find a small Land Rover emblem on some black film to place over the logo on the display.

    Poor man’s CarPlay installed

I mounted it to the dash with suction cup-so far it seems ok but I need to see how the heat affects it-if that doesn't work, I am going to try the adhesive pad. The front of the screen rests on the edge of the dash and I added small diameter adhesive rubber weather stripping to the bottom of the...

    Poor man’s CarPlay installed

Just an update-got this set up today. It works pretty well and had no problem pairing. Not sure what issues you are having with audio playback, DiscoLR4, but mine is just as good as any other source-sounds fine. Maybe you got a bad cable or its not pushed into the Aux input all the way? I did...

    Poor man’s CarPlay installed

Thanks for that info. I would be using an iPhone. My main reason for getting this thing was for music-so I am going to see if it makes sense for me. Did you mount it on the dash above the nav screen?

I ordered the same unit-after looking at various other install options. I was curious if you had any updates. Mine comes today.

New Recall Alert : Fuel System

Happened to me two years ago-smelled gas outside around the back end. This went on for a day or so then took it to the dealer for "repair". No warning lights. Just FYI for others who have had this "repaired", this with the old part, so your vehicle still needs to be repaired correctly. I called...

    18" Wheels w/o modifications

100% what SkyTree said. I am eyeing Compmotives as well.

    Got rear ended..

That car looks like a write off to me. Happened to me in my LR3 about 5 years ago. The car that hit me was totaled and all I needed was a new hitch cover. Its amazing how well these trucks are built. I hope everyone is OK.

    New Discovery Sport

Like it better than the current LR2 but its not for me. I like that the LR4 still has some styling elements that say "truck". You know this won't last and it will soon be like every other another "melted jelly bean" crossover on the roads.

    Vibration from front end

Has the shop checked the wheel bearings and front end for any bad bushings or loose parts, including suspension? If thats all OK, the tires could be the issue due to uneven wear and possibly age as tires can get hard and cause more noise and vibration. My BFG AT's made a lot of ruckus as they...

    Custom RC LR3

Thanks! Appreciate the feedback, thank you! I couldn't begin to say as a lot of hours went into creating the chassis and sourcing drive train parts (its a big hobby of mine). The toy that I used for the body can still be found on eBay every once in a while.

    Custom RC LR3

Slightly off topic but somehow related, I built this a while ago and just got it out again to run it around. The body started off as a toy 1/10 scale LR3 by Rastar but i ditched the drive train and added a custom built with chassis with hobby grade components, custom steel frame and a bunch of...

    Tire pressure

I went with 40 PSI all around on the new Coopers and was able to get rid of a TPMS fault.

    Tire Pressure Monitoring System Fault

I got a fault a week after installing Cooper's and was able to remedy by infllating the tires to 40psi.

How to change the battery in LR4 key fob

yes-this is what I have heard as well-much better than the older flip key style that was on my LR3-where it was very difficult to replace without going to the dealer for a re-program.

    New Discovery Sport

I agree-I would be concerned about wear and tear on the starter, as well as all the other electronic bits that will constantly be cycled on/off many times more frequently than usual.

    lr4 2014 brush guard installation

I do not think the A bar (if we are talking the same part) is compatible with the 2014 LR4. Click link and scroll down to "Exterior": http://www.landrover.com/content/us/pdf/lr4-14my-accessories.pdf

    2013 LR4 new owner questions

Agree- stay away from putting stuff on the roof unless you are only off-roading. Not only to avoid the situations mentioned above but your mileage will suck even more, not to mention the new noises your will hear at highway speeds.

11 mpg after 1 year of driving

I average around 17 between town and highway driving but I really never get my foot into it that often. Driving styles will have a lot to do with mileage as well.

    Future LR Models in US

There will be a lot of Ford design ques in the upcoming models for sure. With so much advance planning in the industry, there were plenty of concepts on the table when Ford sold to Tata. I believe Ford is still getting royalties for the headlight designs (and probably other elements) on the new...

New to Forum and interested in buying a new LR4

2011 LR4, 32K miles. Replaced battery, rear window regulator (worked but was noisy), both of those under warranty. Outside of that, new tires, front and rear brakes/rotors. I had an '05 LR3 and so far the LR4 seems to be more reliable. These are still no where near as reliable as say a Toyota...
