    LR4 Buyers Guide YouTube Video

I applaud your initiative. I would suggest to make your video qualitative. Compare features and options, and make recommendations to the degree you feel comfortable doing so. People interested in buying a used LR4 are going to want to know that that they "got the right year" or didn't miss...

Help! My LR4 Needs a New Engine & I Need Your Input

Why not just choose the $2000 option and replace the head gaskets? Or, just do it yourself for about $600 in parts and fluids. Or, spend $1,200, buy a bunch of tools, then rebuild the engine yourself. It's really not that hard, and while there are probably not many videos specific to the LR4...

    The SVA SCV8 LR4 Poll

I compiled a similar list a long while ago for the LR3. I’m pleased to see that many of the items on this list were addressed in the LR4. Here’s the original list from 2008: https://lr3tips.wordpress.com/2008/04/04/lr3d3-wishlist/

    Problems With the LR3

BendRover, mine had that seat wobble also. Its incredibly annoying. There are some ball bearings in the track that wear up against a plastic spacer, slowly increasing a gap over time. I recently watched an episode of Wheeler Dealer on Mototrend where Ant Anstead (talented mechanic)...

Why is the "most capable 4x4" so fragile ?

Okay, it didn't "lower" into limp home mode, but the vehicle performance dropped in every possible way. Limp Home mode is brilliant and frustrating. Its great, because it will more than likely get you out of wherever you are, but its oh so frustrating because it moves so slowly with every...

    LR3 from stock to Overlandish?

Holy Moldy. Is that a flood car, or is all that just from the sunroof drain tubes? Honest question: Why 35's on a overland vehicle? On THAT particular overland vehicle?

Why is the "most capable 4x4" so fragile ?

Ah! And there's the problem. You misinterpreted the marketing. Land Rover touts their vehicles as the most capable 4x4's, and rightly so, they do not claim to be reliable. Best4x4xFar is the old slogan. It's not wrong, but the question needs to be defined, "Best at what?" I have long...

Need advice from someone with offroad LR4 experience

As a Trip Leader on many, many events, I had an GMRS/FRS, CB, and HAM 2meter set up. Nothing beats the HAM radio for comms, and my Tail End Charlier always had a HAM set up so no matter how far apart we got, we stayed in comms range. I prefer the higher GMRS bands (channel 21 or so) over CB...

Need advice from someone with offroad LR4 experience

No, tires alone just allow you to get into deeper trouble. You need to think about recovery gear, first aid supplies, communications gear, etc. You need a foundation. Is there a Land Rover or 4x4 club near you? If so, Join them and participate. Many clubs do “New Member Orientation” runs...

Need advice from someone with offroad LR4 experience

2,1,5 in that order. But not those tires. Go with something proven to be decent, like KO3's, Falkien's, Coopers, etc... But ANY tire other than OEM is going to be an improvement, and the fridge is not a performance extender, so doesn't below on this list. I have a fridge (ARB 50qt), and I...

2005 LR3 seriously annoying whine from engine....

It might be your oil filter. If you replaced it with the wrong type or size, or one with less flow than the OEM unit, it will whine just like that. Not unique to Land Rover, true with many vehicles.

    which rod?

Johnson answered your question in his original post! They are beefier to withstand getting pulled on and off on a regular basis.

    which rod?

He did it the hard way. He manually installed an OEM locker and then spliced in a harness, patched the computer to enable it, and viola!

Turning left...hearing some sort of grinding??

If its at full turn, its a simple rub point at the steering stop. This used to be a common fix that a dab of grease will resolve. There used to be a write up and photo on www.**************, but I haven't been on there in a long time and wouldn't know where to start looking

That flaking is unusual. Houm you are dead on about the standoff tubes. RS is in Minnesota with trees and wet roots in abundance. When I pushed them for the Slims and the Stage 1's without ANY tubes, they thought I was crazy, but different conditions deserve different configurations...

    Problems With the LR3

I'd be willing to bet sunroof drain tubes are coming up soon. It's like 2005 all over again. Was your truck EVER serviced? These things should NOT be unresolved at this point in time. LRNA fixed all them. Also, it sounds like you need your alignment redone.

This seems like an overly sensitive response, which suggests I'm either closer to the truth than I want to be, or I'm farther from it than I thought. Either way, it would be decent of you to say who you are. I searched your site and found no answers. It's a small world, you seem to know me...
