HI,

Its a discovery 1 V8i, 3.9. The viscous fan clutch does not seems working fine. Only time the clutch works on cold start, it works for around 2 to 3km & goes off.

On slow moving traffic the heat gauge shoots up & the condenser fan comes on too.

I have removed the fan clutch & well clean the spring with WD40 but no luck.

Appreciate your inputs.

Thanks,
Arshard

You may need to replace the clutch they can go bad. I would also make sure the bearings in the water pump feel tight as well by pushing pulling up and down on the shaft. If it feels like it moves replace the water pump as well.
