My suspicion is the fan clutch for me. I've heard similar sounds from some different trucks with that exact problem. I'm hoping it is because replacing the fan clutch compared to the cooling fan is about a 500 dollar difference on just part alone. Thanks for the info @AxelR. If you've got any more details that would be great.

Although this guy had his chevy trailblazer do the same thing after he replaced the fan clutch and water pump.

    Yes it fixed the sound.
I'm still on the road (Montreal). Will read the service paperwork one more time to give you guys the part number.

IMG_0598.JPG Attaching a picture, so you can see for yourself what was done. Most of it is in English.

Interesting. I would not have guessed a cooling fan. I'm going to send a video to the dealer to see if they have any thoughts.

So I got my truck back two days ago.
The list is long. Besides a blown compressor the main problem was the engine. They kept the truck for a whole month... blaming it on having 5 other vehicles with engine problem and only one master tech allowed to work on these engines. Everything was covered by the warranty fortunately. The total came out to $6,500.
Here is quick list of what they had to change:
    Sprockets
    Timing chain guides
    Timing chain tensioners
Injectors kit (not actual injectors just small parts)
Many seals, gaskets and little things like that
Obviously that implied an oil and filter change as well as cooling fluid
And keep in mind that this is only for one side of the engine!

They also changed the front brakes (rotors and pads) under warranty. It's only the 3rd or 4th time in a year. SA told me that next time they would investigate the problem...

Drove home (2 hours), engine seems to work well. Arrived home, actually stopped to get groceries, ... suspension fault.

On the plus side, I got to to spend a month with the Jaguar F-Pace. What a fun machine. Great engine, great handling... I might have to consider switching over as I don't really go off-road up here in Central New York.

    What warranty do you have?

I'm confused. Was the ticking noise the fan clutch, then you had the timing chain done? I guess it's possible you had the ticking noise then the camshaft code was thrown. Two unrelated issues.

I haven't heard the ticking since those sub 20 degree mornings.

It's a CPO truck. Standard Land Rover stuff. Not sure who is the actual company behind it.

Glad I purchased a 3rd party extended warranty on mine. So far so good with 93k miles. At least now I'll know where to look if something arises.

@aakempvt definitely could be two separate issues.
