I got a new key fob shell for my 2007 LR3. Took apart the original key fob, installed both the old chip and the old key in the new shell.

It will lock and unlock the doors using the buttons, and the key will turn in the ignition, but when I try to actually start the vehicle, it won't do anything.

Ideas?

I am interested in the outcome of your dilemma as I'm about to do this shell swap shortly...and I'll be adding a new battery.

I cut my old case open, de-soldered the old battery, soldered on a replacement found on Amazon and installed the old key and newly-energized control board into an Amazon-sourced case.
And.....

It works....
