I saw this on the RRS forum. Does anyone know if it works on the LR4? If it does, I could have saved myself a $200 SIR dongle.

1) Turn on ignition (foot off brake)
2) Open Hood
3) Open Driver door
4) hold brake & gas for 20-30 seconds
5) Let off brake gas
6) Turn off ignition.

I'll try it right now..

Mine's on too..

Edit:

No Joy. I tried it twice and couldn't get it to work..

I'm hoping for a solution, I have the same message and feel dumb going to the dealer to have it shut off..!

Wait.. I just read that this works only on the MY2014+ models, I'm a 2012..

Is there anybody out there with a 2014+ that can try this? No benefit to me, but good info for posterity..

This procedure:

1) Turn on ignition (foot off brake)
2) Pop the Hood
3) Open Driver door
4) hold brake & gas pedals for 20-30 seconds
5) Let off brake & gas pedals
6) Turn off ignition.

worked after the first oil change on my 2016 LR4.
It does not give you any indication that it worked other than the service light no longer appears when you start the vehicle.

Exactly, did the same to mine after the JLR techs forgot to reset it after the first annual service.

Is there any procedure that works for a 2010-2013 LR4? I have not been able to find anything at all.

Reset is done with a diagnostics tool for those model years (dealer or aftermarket tools such as IIDTool can do it.) Only 2014s and later can be reset without it.

I purchased the diagnostics tool from amazon for around $120 I believe. It was easy to reset with it and in my opinion it is worth it to have
