I have decided to sell my 2012 LR4. There was over $100,000 put into this vehicle. Any idea what I should ask for it? I was going to put it up for sale here and on the expedition portal.

Thanks,

Jud

This could be good or bad...to get the most money you'd want to take everything off and sell it out right and the parts separately...or find someone that wants that exact rig. That's time consuming and a PITA. Take the KBB value of the rig and add 35%-50% (depending on condition) of the amount you spent on aftermarket equipment (exclude labor) and that's you're going rate for modified vehicles. How do I know this? I watch a lot of auctions on velocity channel, lol --- it's a bummer, probably better to keep it.

You'll never get what you want out of it with all your modifications on it. Nobody wants to buy someone else's build.

You'll get much more money by selling the mods individually and then selling the LR4 as a stock vehicle.

Why are you selling it?
Where are you located?

As far as value I would ask what you ultimately want and then negotiate down to reasonable - if you can wait it out. I know these vehicles are trading at about 24k with that mileage without all the mods. So maybe start there and add what you think is a reasonable return for all your modifications.

You will never get what you put in, but you might get enough to not have sellers remorse. And the next owner is going to be stoked, so thats always a good feeling.

Yeah, that. Mods are fun but tough to recoup much from. There is no premium for "having done them all" just a whopping case of depreciation.

It is worth KBB and 10 cents on the dollar for the mods. So an extra $10k. Most Mom's looking won't want all that extra stuff.

It would appear OP is in Utah.

That is a really nice build. Hopefully you don't really need to sell it. Modding and flipping overland builds is not going to be profitable, especially on this platform where everything is premium expensive.

Sorry for the late reply. I’m located in Logan, Utah. I think I’m going to start listing it at $40,000 and see if it sells. Anyone that has modified there’s will appreciate the amount of money it takes to add all this. I’m would hope the 100,000 bumper to bumper factory warranty would give buyers some piece of mind also. I’m selling it just because I’m bored with it. My wife and I have several cars we drive. Including a large collection of European off road trucks.
