I just recieved an e-mail regarding the 2006 Sport. Base model price is $56,000, and has everything that a loaded LR3 has with satillite radio, PTI Bluetooth, and memory seats and power exterior mirrors. In addition other options will be offered that will up the price. Seems like the things they forgot on the LR3 will be included in the Sport.

That is pretty cool news. Honestly, I'm someone who wanted a RR but they price is way too high, so I'm looking at the LR3, which I like. However, why would I buy an LR3 when I can get the RR Sport for the same price?

LR3 seems to have more risk and glitches as a completely new vehicle...

RRS is a completely new vehicle too, isn't it?

First model years stink, especially for Rovers. Buy a mid-90's RR Classic, or a Series III Stage 1, and live the simple life!

Third row seating, much larger capacity, no silly 20 inch wheels, etc. If you want sport with utility, LR3 wins hands down. While the RR sport is "cool", if I didn't need the LR3 I'd rather spend my money on a car...lots more fun to drive.

Yea the LR3 is more utilitarian whereas the RRS is more sporty. I've got a sports car to go with my LR3 so the LR3 suits me better, but the RRS is a good combo, plus the looks are fantastic!

I agree with Moose. It usually takes a good year or so with new models to sort out the bugs, but with all the additional electronic gizmos each year, I guess we will be fielding new and more complex questions.

Interesting...just have gone through a detailed decision process between an LR3 HSE and the RRS. When it comes down to it, for the same features I want, the RRS is $4K more. So, since I do lose some cargo volume and the 3rd row of seat, that's $4K just for styling. Still, I do like the look better and could order one in carnes blue, which is nice.

So...now here's the tough one. There is *the* HSE I want sitting on my dealers lot...will probably be gone in a day or two if I don't take it. Buy that? ...or, if I don't *need* it right away, do I wait for the 2006s. hmmmmmmmm... there's always something else around the corner isn't there? :) (2006 wait would be only for system bugs worked out - car is the same I know)

2006.....Jaguar 4.2L supercharged 291kw , or 4.4L naturally aspirated 225kw.....Hmmmmm, I think I'd wait!
