Hi,

I have a set of rims that I purchased and they currently don't have tires on them. Is there any way to determine if the wheel sensors are good or not before putting tires on them? If the only way to test is to put the tires on and drive, then that's fine.

Another question....do the sensors have replaceable batteries or would the entire unit have to be replaced if no good?

Thank you,

Rob

Batteries are internal, and not serviceable.

There are special tools that can check them, but it will not be an absolute confirmation without the sensors being under pressure, as that portion of the sensor would not be checked, just its ability to transmit a signal. Most good tire shops should have TPMS readers.
