IIDtool.. for the life of me I can't find that my IID has the function to reset BMS to tell the computer I have a new battery... I found in another thread you mentioned this path...but maybe the path is different for a 2008? (I've looked at all the other menus to no avail)
Main Menu > Service/Test > BCM Body Control > Battery Replacement > + (to start the reset routine.

I don't think the LR3's have a battery management system, so the option is probably hidden/removed when connected to one.
