Yeah I know what you mean by “cutting”. It’s all perspective. So, from what I’ve gathered the 32.1” MT’s will fit but only with at least 3/4” spacers. I’m not a fan of spacers. I’ve already replaced both front hubs. Easy, but not wanting to do it again. The upper control arms sit close to the tires with OEM offsets causing the sidewalls to rub on most larger tires. I’ve heard nothing but great things about the KO2 so it looks like my route.

I can speak to the KO2 being a good tire on other vehicles, so I don't think you'll be disappointed by any means. I've run them on three trucks and was very pleased. Two out of those three had less noise deadening and such than the lurf, and one was maybe even - all worked great. Plus, even though we shouldn't care what our tires look like, we care what our tires look like - the KO2s look pretty badass. Especially on something as sophisticated yet tough as an LR4. You'll definitely dig 'em.

There's no reason to fear wheel spacers, though. At least no reason to fear a spacer any more than a wheel with the same centerline offset as your wheel plus a spacer. The load's centerline (center of the tire, basically) in relation to the support bearing's centerline is the only dimension that has en effect on leverage against that bearing. If the net result of a wheel plus spacer wheel in regards to offset from centerline is the same as a different wheel's offset from centerline by itself, physics doesn't know the spacer is there. I promise you that if you take any wheel of the same width as the compomotive everyone here swears by and use a spacer to make the exact same backspacing and offset you'll have no problems that you wouldn't have with the compomotives. It's simple physics. We're just told spacers are bad because ********* put a 1.5" spacer behind their wheel and then are shocked that the insane increase in leverage kills their bearings and such. If you put a wheel with 1.5" more negative offset the exact same problem would exist.

I must say, I was so tempted by the 275/55 but erred on the cautious side. After seeing the clearances I have shown in my photos at very top of post (dropped to the bump stops), there was not much to play with as far as clearances go. Comparing the size 285/50 =793mm and the 275/55=810mm there is a 17mm increase in diameter so halve that and she would be touching. Remember, the photos below are on the bump stops.

Now, I know alot of you are running permanent lifts and would say "my car would be clear with 2 inches of lift", but at the end of the day, through full articulation of the wheels when offroading, you will potentially rub when the wheel travels through these areas. So if it touches at the bump stops, you will touch when offroad.

I noticed that this morning when I dropped my truck into access with worn tires. Very close at 275/55.

Just as a sidebar, why did you ask this? What I mean is, what were you trying to differentiate by the answer?

They're the same thing in reality, aren't they? Rods just trick the sensors into reading a lower value mechanically, where the stuff like IIDTool tells the computer to change the effective center electronically - just using a stick vs using an electronic device to make the exact same thing happen, isn't it?

Pure curiosity.
Oddly enough I have heard far more issues with the rods than the GAPIID tool.
Then again most are only lifting 1-1.5"
Currently I am running a 1.5" lift. Have been for the last 4 years with no issues.

But they can be finicky vehicle, so what works on one may not work on another.

I’ve been running 2.5” rods full time since 2011 on a 3 and 4 without issues. 275/65r18 on the 3.

Gotcha - I was just wondering if there was something I wasn't getting or wasn't aware of. Thanks.

Tire update. Had 275/55 KO2’s mounted today. 20mi on them. So far they ride great. No more shaking steering wheel or heavy planting.

Selling old set for cheap. Tire shop said 40% tread remaining. This isn’t the thread for selling, but if anyone’s looking for a cheap spare set let me know. 275/55r20 Duratracs.
