I have a mint (inside and out... like inside is insanely perfect, the leather is brand new and matte still) CPO white 2015 LR4 HSE LUX/HD package/blackpack/Towing with 35k miles and 4 years left on the warranty.

I also have 3.5 years left on a $800 a month payment which is 1.8% APR...

Just drove past my local dealer and saw a Corris Grey (color I always wanted) 2014 LR4 blackpack LUX with all the same options and of course the HD package with 61k miles on the clock and therefor no MF warranty but one owner for a lot less than what I paid and for what I think my current ride is worth.

Would any of you trade in and maybe drop another $10k in cash to downgrade to a higher mileage vehicle without a warranty but then have no more car payment?

I did it. Went from a 2016 to a 2015 with more miles.... But had all the options I wanted.

I wouldn't do it just to get a different color.
Is the change worth $10,000 ? Plus more miles on odometer and no CPO.
It just does not make any sense. You asked so I answered.
But,.... it is your money and you can do whatever you want. Do whatever will make you happy.

Was the 2015 CPO when you bought it? How many miles?

Dang I wish my dealer wasn't 70 miles away... would be an easier decision to at least go talk to them tomorrow.
Cpo with 47k miles when I got it. Traded mine in with slightly less than 20k miles. Main reason I traded it in was to get the HD package... And the lux

Well, the color would just be a bonus. The real reason would be to spend $10k(or maybe more) and then no longer have a car payment. Instead of continuing to pay off the $36k I have left on it. I don't have a ton of incentive to pay it off early(besides getting rid of the payment), since my interest rate is 1.8%.

No car payment, might make it easier to build a new house and rent my current one out, or buy the new RZR which I have been wanting. (was also part of the reason I got the Land Rover in the first place, so I could tow something)

Higher mileage does scare me though, cause I do want to keep (either) landy for quite some time.

Generally, trading in a vehicle that is worth more than the vehicle you are getting in return is a good way to get bent over by the dealer.

If your interest is 1.8% you can take the 36k and buy ATT (T) and get about 6.5% dividend yield.

How long do you plan to keep this vehicle? If the answer is forever and there is no hesitation then perhaps it may be worthwhile but if your answer is anything less than forever the loss you'll take on the two vehicles along with maintenance will outweigh any savings from lack of car payment w/ interest.
