Hi all...I just got done wrestling with installing the ProSpeed ladder. I had to modify the number light bar in order to accommodate the bolts that hold the ladder to the door.

Anybody else struggle with installing this ladder? I have a 2014. Also I can see a bit of the ladder in the backup camera which is a bit annoying but doesn't affect the view. The ladder does look good though.

took a while to get those two holes enlarged to the correct size. Same deal, blocks some of the camera.

Be advised, keep a watch on the top of the ladder for rust. Mine has only been on for about 4 months, already rusting at the top tube welds.

Here's a quick pic @iSurfvilano I actually like the additional step. I'm 6'2" and don't really have any issues using the upper step first however having the additional one actually works to just give me a little extra boost. The angle at the top looks a little off in the pic, it's pretty flat though.

Thanks @atlantaM3 I thought about Rhino Lining the ladder due to the rust issues, however, I just decided to keep an eye on it. We'll see how it does here in Colorado.

I have their ladder as well as roof rack and sliders. it's not supposed to rust, especially not after just 4 months. If that happens, I am pretty sure they will warranty the product.

Thanks for the feedback...I'll keep an eye on it and reach out to ProSpeed if there's an issue.

@LR4TQ what was your experience like with the install for both the ladder and rack?

I too had a difficult time fitting the Prospeed ladder. The coating process is sub-par and needs to have a quality review. I had to enlarge the hole for the mounting bolts, and realign the two other holes for straight fitment. I contacted ProSpeed about it, and they stated that the ladder was originally designed for the LR3, and not the LR4. So the tolerances in the mounting may be a bit different.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm definitely keeping an eye on the powder coating. I'll write an update after this winter here in CO.

I just spent 4 hours wrestling with this ladder only to discover that it doesn't line up correctly on my LR4 when the top is seated which makes me think it got tweaked in shipment or the design is off. when the top is seated properly, the holes don't line up. One question for those who have done this, do the two rubber mounting grommets mount flush from the front or the back? the fitting instructions were a little blurry so hard to tell the orientation, I'm at a loss to see how this mounting hardware lines up on the end of the liftgate (left side) with a 12mm drill out where the lift gate interior sheet metal isn't even flat and the front to back looks like 1" (the grommet is 1/2" x 12mm)and a straight line brings you into the back of the liftgate seal which makes no sense at all. The top is fastened with double side tape and the lip edge holding against the top of the liftgate. I'm thinking of using just one mounting grommet as the bracket does use the three 10MM posts from the tag lamp assembly but those are anchored in plastic which doesn't inspire confidence. Maybe nutserts are the better option?
