I think the only interior noise I have is the portable air compressor and tire-plug kit I have stashed in the "dead space" behind the middle row and under the third row sometimes rattle. I've been meaning to wrap them up in a towel or something to **** the sound, but haven't done it yet.

Our 16' has a horrible squeak from the rear area. I've isolated the seats and think It's coming from the rear hatch. Need to have the wife drive while I search. It drives me nuts. It's her DD, she turns up the radio.

I once didn't have the rear cargo cover engaged in the notches fully and it drove me nuts for a week. Squeak and rattle nonstop.

This will help a lot of people. I have a 2008 RRS (83000 mi) and had the same tick from the rear seats which is basically the same in many ways as the LR series. I finally found the problem after weeks of looking. My noise came from the right hand back seat. It was the mounting bolts to the floor. If I hit the seat with my hand and made it vibrate it would make the noise. If I loosened the mounting bolts it would not. If I torqued them down they would then make the sound again. So I discovered the bolt somehow bottomed before it actually put enough pressure on the seat flange or the head didn't grab the flange well enough. I added an extra washer or two under the bolt heads and the seat has been quiet for years. I have no other sounds in my sport whatsoever (unlike my 1973 jeep CJ5 that has every noise known to man. Owned since new, 45 years)

What helped me immensely was taking some thick petroleum lubricant and a soft brush and lubing every pivot point on the seats (especially the second and third row), doors, hatches, etc. I have found specifically that keeping the rubber ‘bumpers’ where the rear hatch hits the body lubricated makes a big difference in squeaks and rattles.

Also look for dumb things like loose change rattling around under the seats. I spent considerable time troubleshooting a repetitive rattle to discover that a penny had crept into the stereo amplifier housing under the passenger seat.

Good luck!

I have the same seat "tick" coming from the rear seats. It drives me crazy. Please post if you figure out what is making the noise. The AC also has started making a weird noise in the front, as well. But, that does not both me as much as the "tick" noise from the back seat.

hey Spyder,
try removing the plastic covers of the inner seats bases.
they houses the metal bases of the seat way below.
the tick I was hearing was originating from this area. after i removed it and Sprayed it with WD-40.
issues was resolved.

now i have to figure out how to reduce the plastic rubbing on each other sound

My LR4 (though only 33k miles from 2013) is surprisingly rattle free except for a low rattle/squeak/vibration on the dash area to e left of the instrument cluster. I'm really good at this stuff, but I still can't pinpoint exactly where it is coming from.

Remember to lubricate/dress your rubber seals on doors/windows, etc.

I'm at 34k on MY13 and I'm trying to track down something that sounds awfully like what you're hearing. I thought it was coming from the instrument cluster but now I'm suspicious of something inside of the mirror mount housing that's reflecting the sound off that area. It's really hard to hear so I'm just going back to the "turn up the radio" mentality for the near term. :)

What do you recommend as a safe product to use? I have a seal-on-seal squeak near the rearview mirror area of my driver side door every time I go to close it. It happens when the door is almost closed like the two seals are just touching.
