I saw an LR4 with 18" Black Rhino wheels at the recent WNLRR in Northern California. They were black, 6 or 7-spokes and looked great. They were neither of the styles above, if I had to guess (scrolling through their catalog) they were 18x8.5 Mozambique. The owner said he had to shave the outer edges of both front calipers a few millimeters to avoid rubbing, but otherwise he claims they went on without spacers. They also use a non-factory lug nut. I wish I had taken a picture of them.

to go with wheels you might appreciate having lug nuts that don't have the stupid chrome shell that always deforms even if you're careful because some asshole at a shop is going to NOT use the 22mm because it's a little snug. They'll use a 7/8 and then the shells are toast.

I have a set in black as well as just ordered these silver/chrome for the silver 17" winter wheels I have shown in my avatar.

They ship out of Kent WA and the guy was very quick to respond. Gorilla Nuts are well known for good quality. My black ones are maybe 4 yrs old now and show no signs of trouble. There is a note about not using air tools or impact but I generally remove mine with a Proto impact air tool.... $125 for 23. Not bad when dealer wants $20 each.

OK I feel like I'm banging my head against the wall. I've tried to take in all the information here and not ask stupid questions. I ended up going with an 255/60R18 8Jx18 AH2 ET57 inch wheel I purchased from a LR4 driver, I have a 2016 SCV6. It didn't fit.. it was rubbing on the caliper.

I'm going crazy.

I have learned that these wheel sizes should fit without issues

255/55R19 240.0kph (149.12mph)
111V 8Jx19 ET53 5x120
235/70R17 210.0kph (130.48mph)
111H 7Jx17 ET53 5x120
255/60R18 240.0kph (149.12mph)
112V 8Jx18 ET53 5x120
255/50ZR20 300.0kph (186.41mph)
109Y 8.5Jx20 ET47 5x120

I've been trying not to alter the body work but just wanted to fit 18's on a SCV6 2016. I have also been weary about buying online wheels that say they fit.

This SCV6 is turning into a nightmare for me. No Snorkel option, problems finding an 18 inch wheel to fit. 79 pages of reading I must have missed something

Things I have learned from this thread.

  • IID tool is a must
  • Rods are crap spend the $500 extra for the IID tool
  • wheel well modifications may be required dependant on the tyres
  • Duratec tyres do not wear well
  • 265/60R18 are about the best tyre size for no modifications
  • Wheel spacers and rods should not cause issues (LR mechanic quote)
  • Compomotive wheels are great but fitted with 285/60R18 you may need to trim down on the horns
  • PD1881 ET44 fit the V8 larger breaks that are the same size as the 3.0 SCV6
  • 265/65R18 is what most people go with
  • 8jx18 H2 Et53 don't fit the SCV6 - Personal experience
  • 8jx19 H2 Et53 are the standard smallest wheel size
  • Rods not required for 30.52, 30.05, 29.04, diameter
  • Rods are required for 31.46, 31.56, 32.07 diameter or IID tool
  • IID tool/rods is recommended for 285/60/R18
  • IID tool/rods is a must for 265/65/R18, 275/65/R18
  • IID tool/rods NOT required for 265/60/R18, 255/60/R18, 255/55/R18
  • LR4 2010-2014 V8 and 14-2016 SCV6 Rotor Outer distentions 350.0mm / inner 222.mm
So I am just asking any other SCV6 owners which wheels/tyre combo are you using that you do not need to modify the vehicle before i spend another grand on wheels I don't need.

Anyone know why stock wheels will not fit a SCV6?
255/60R18 112V 8Jx18 ET53 5x120

What i will need is a offset of 45 most likely

Well, first, you are totally confusing tire size with wheel size. Then, you add a bunch of information about tire size that's useless to determining whether a wheel fits over a brake caliper.

Anything that fits on one unmodified LR4 should fit on another. What wheels was it you bought?

It's not that hard to find information on what 18 inch wheels for sure work. It's really easy, in fact. Your choices are:

Compomotives.
Mudtechs.

Or, LR3 wheels with a 1.25" wheel spacer.

8Jx18 AH2 ET57 - I have worked out that it is the ET57 (offset that was the problem)

What wheels are those? A google search turns up nothing.

Just so you know, 18" wheels were not offered on any LR4.

They are 2014 range rover land rover LR4 which I found on Kijji (Craigs list type of thing)

i didn't know they were ET57 until after purchasing them

the confirmation that i took was from this site and from this LR3/4 door tire pressure label

You sure they were used on an LR4? Are you in North America?

Lol. Not to jump on you when you're down, but why would you trust that janky website when everything you needed to know was in this thread? According to that website, you can also use 17" wheels on an LR4. Lol.

The wheels you bought were never used on an LR4 in the North American market unless the guy you bought them from ground the hell out of his brake calipers.

I understand now, but when I purchased the wheels I didn't know about this thread. I then was trying to figure out why i found this thread. The thread started back in 2013 prior to my vehicle upgrade being made.
This is an international forum and reading through all 79 pages gets confusing as people are go off in their direction then the next 50 posts are about grinding off parts or doing wheel well extensions.

I have two sets of OEM 19 inch wheels Summer/Winter, and originally I was looking for 19 inch off road tyres to replace all 9. But because Land Rover are tending to hair dressers and football moms instead of keeping to what I know best the Series 2/3/Defender 90/110/130 I had an LR2 for a few months but that was a lemon (broke out of the Door) and got my money back and purchased another 90.

I trusted information on the net that I could finds. Not knowing the north american market is about bling and not keeping up with Jeep and thinking they would be the same as Australia and South Africa I was trusting the information from the sites I was visiting. I have only owned the LR4 for 3 months after replacing my military 90 due to breaking it.
So all these choice to try and make a hairdressers car into a proper off road is confusing.

But I must say I do like the DHC but still prefer a manual vehicle over automatic

its funny, I didn't know what janky was. I thought you misspelled Yanky and I thought you were being derogatory My US neighbours. I then laughed again as I lived in the Netherlands for many years and the J is pronounced as a Y so I still read it as Yanky. I wonder who originally came up with the Janky term and the meaning behind it.
