Has anyone mounted up an ARB twin compressor for onboard air? I searched and found references to folks doing it on LR3s but I think we have an air box where they were mounting them. I also saw references to a second battery compartment but I can't seem to find one--i think mine is full of abs and computer bits. I was thinking it might be possible to wedge it in behind the passenger side headlight and in front of the air box. I havent bought the compressor yet so not sure it'd fit.

Note, mine has 7 seats and I need to keep them, so can't put it in the rear load floor area I think. Maybe under the middle seat in the middle row though?

This is a us spec 2011 LR4 with the 5.0 v8 fyi.

I've been wondering about using that same space for an ARB compressor too. Interested to hear how you go!

You can make room in the auxiliary battery compartment, like those of us with an installed second battery have done. If you have a NAS 2013 (or earlier) with the V8 and without the additional hardware for the stop/start system tucked in that compartment, you should be able to make enough room for the ARB unit, but measure first. There will be enough room for a (smallish) auxiliary battery after moving things around in there, don't know the dimensions of the ARB compressor, though. I remember it being pretty large.

More info on freeing up space for the auxiliary battery can be found here: https://www.landroverworld.org/threads/lr4-second-battery-install.23254/

That starboard side is where I plan to have the washer bottle relocated to at some point. With a larger 2nd battery, which is what most people want as much of as possible, there is no room in the 2nd battery location on an lr3 so I would assume the lr4 location has similar constraints. In this case, the much easier to fit single chamber air compressor wins over the enjoyment of the dual. I have both so I know what you all like about it but my dual is in the self contained kit/case so it can come along as an extra or go into any vehicle as needed.

My 2nd battery is the Odessey 2150. It’s massive and longest run time that I could find back then. Had to cut the top post to fit.

Battery box was cut out at front and relocated the little pump or filter whatever is there I forget.

My fridge can be used for about a week without running engine depending on air temps and how cold you need fridge but I usually have cream, eggs, etc so it’s standard 38F Range?

Not exactly the ARM Twin compressor, but the Viair 400C. After reading how Don H. installed twin Viair 400C in his LR3 (http://norcalrovers.org/forum/index.php?/topic/3507-onboard-air-for-an-lr3/), I want to install onboard air in my LR4 as well. I opted for a single 400C and found out space is very limited in the LR4 (http://norcalrovers.org/forum/index.php?/topic/5568-lr4-onboard-air/).

Now I am working on a semi-auto Arduino controlled deflation/inflation system.

Nice! Any chance you could post the install photos here? The NorCal site doesn't let non member see photos (I'm in Colorado).
