"OPTIONS: SOLD-STK" got me curious and a quick search showed it popping up on just about every repair invoice. I don't think it's related to error codes but is more of an identifier of some sort. Sometimes it is followed by MY, engine, and trim specs. Other times there is an alphanumeric code after it that is different from the VIN. Puzzling and I remain curious.

I just looked at some of my old dealer service invoices and there is a field for "Selling Dealer No." and "Stock No.". Maybe SOLD stands for Selling Or Leasing Dealer and STK means Stock. Wild Ass Guess for sure.

Ugh. Well we started driving out to the dealer, and the dealer just happened to call us and told us they were taking it to a body shop to fix the door they wrecked. So we went to the body shop and looked it over as throughly as we could. Doesn’t look like they replaced motor, but it also looks like they didn’t do anything else.

Anyone know what this means in the comments section? Is the “Sold-Stk” short for something?

That is probably the sales departments notes from when the vehicle was sold, stk would be Stock # as every dealer assigns a stock number to every vehicle in inventory (usually a different letter prefix depending on new or used or vehicle line if a multi brand dealer) so for future reference on looking up documentation they would know that they were the selling dealer and if they sold it as new or used

Was that the place in Sudbury or the one in Norwood? I haven’t been impressed with either.
I know you had to hit the dealership because of your warranty but if you need a great LR repair shop talk to the folks at J Whites Auto: jwhitesutomotive.com. They’re in Framingham and specialize in Rovers and Jags.

It means the dealer sold it to you. They were the selling dealer. Obviously, the idea is that people who buy it from the servicing dealer get more perks. Maybe a loaner, free car was, whatever.

Yeah - I have to say, if you're out of warranty and not going to DIY the job then find a trusted mechanic that *isn't* the dealership unless you really fall in love with your dealership. My local mechanic may not be focused specifically on LR but he's done great work with anything I've thrown at him with my Volvo (haven't had any LR issues, yet. knock on wood) and covers all parts and repairs for a year or 12k miles. That's standing behind the job and supporting the customer.

Technically, for this job it’s still under warranty.

Are you getting anywhere with LR corporate? Clearly the dealer isn't very good. I would start by killing them on every social media outlet they use. Facebook, where ever. post a clear and chronological list of events and tag them and see if that doesnt start moving the needle. I assure you that dealers make their money on service, not sales..start hurting them in the reputation department with their buyers and they will have to do something.

Last I heard from Corporate was that the dealer had satisfied their requirement to fix the ticking and that they were sending it to have the door handle/scratch fixed - "if there's anything else we can do to help, please let us know."
