Wanting to do LED's in my headlights and fogs in my 2009 LAND ROVER LR3. Have very little knowledge about the h7 led bulb but I've heard that my body style has separate bulbs for the high and low beams. Trying to figure out if this is true and if so where to find each bulb. Also trying to find led headlight bulbs for the fogs. Anybody did this before? Thanks in advance for the help.

Do not put LED bulbs in your headlights. It will work out horribly and you will blind oncoming drivers.

I just installed Philips crystal vision bulbs in my hi's, low's, and fogs. They are noticeably better. I'd say worth the money.

If you look in the accessories thread I believe someone posted about upgrading the entire housing with an led system with a cutoff. I looked into it awhile back and saw it was like $200.

As Ryanjl said, whatever you do don't throw in LEDS that will blind oncoming traffic.

HID conversion kits don't work well in halogen housings. Another good way to bind oncoming drivers and/or achieve generally poor results by putting a type and shape of bulb into a refractive housing not originally designed for them.

Best upgrade is to find some LR4 Xenon headlight assemblies on the secondary market and swap them over.

Second best upgrade is to modify H9 bulbs to fit.

+1... everything Ryan said above is 100% accurate. I plan to try the H9 upgrade (click here for details).

I’ve replaced low beams, high beams, and fogs with LED and they are awesome! I’m using Phillips lumiledLED’s from Hikari. I’ll try to find the links on Amazon where I ordered them. They are specifically designed for projector lens setups. I’ve had zero issues with blinding oncoming drivers and the visibility is amazing. When I’m on the highway, they illuminate reflective signs WAY down the road. It’s not uncommon that even if I have one or two cars in front of me with traditional hallogen bulbs, my lights are the ones illuminating the signs, not there’s even though they are closer. The fog lights I’m using have a toggle function where you can change them from white to amber using the fog light switch (OFF > White > OFF > Amber).

Here’s the low beams I used:

Here’s the high beams:

Here’s the fog lamps:

Also, I replaced the reverse lights with LED and that really made a difference:

I did a 4,000 mile Overlanding trip with these lights and they all performed flawlesslly.

I also used my GAP IIDTool to change the behavior of how the low beams, high beams, and fogs operatate. You can program the lows, and fogs to all stay on when you activate high beams. I wouldn’t do this if you are still running halogens, since they are all still drawing 55 watts.
