What do you recommend as a safe product to use? I have a seal-on-seal squeak near the rearview mirror area of my driver side door every time I go to close it. It happens when the door is almost closed like the two seals are just touching.

303 Aerospace protectant is one of the ones people use. I've used it and have been pretty happy. Gummi pflege is even more highly regarded. I have it but have not used it yet.

If it's a rubber seal you are talking about, silicone spray is okay and won't dry out or otherwise degrade the rubber.

Our 16' has a horrible squeak from the rear area. I've isolated the seats and think It's coming from the rear hatch. Need to have the wife drive while I search. It drives me nuts. It's her DD, she turns up the radio.

We had this on our '12. It was the latch on the lower hatch door. Horrible noise.

Hey guys,
Lets start by saying that i enjoy a quite ride. The quieter the better.

Now since I purchased my used LR4 2011 HSE (90,000km), its been mostly great.
The only down side in my experience in the noise that i hear in the cabin.

The plastic tends to create swueaky noises left and right.
Im sure you guys already
Know that, any pressure added on any bit will create a squeaky sound.

The leather seats also rub and create their unique sounds.
-someone once told to rub Vasilne lub on them to reduce the leather sound-??

But the most annoying sounds
Of all are sounds the seats emit when i take a semisharp/sharp turn.
Its similar to a clicking sound (tak-tak-tak) 3-4 tics back to back. The sound vanishes completely when im on highway.

As if there was some space left between the seats and the rails.
I have a feeling that the interior was dismantled competly for cleaning. Maybe assembled not optimally.

Im only talking about the driver seat and the passenger seat next to it.

The rattle in the back is another layer to the beautiful orchestra my LR4 emits.

I was considering removing the 2 seats and re-installing them correctly.
Could that help.?
Really trying to reach a quite ride. Has anyone done that before? If there a video about or something.

Cheers all.

hi all,

am suffering a similar dull rattle but only when going over rough roads...i will try some of the suggestions here...HOWEVER, for rear seat rattles i solved two major ones by
1. lowering the middle seat to its lowest position (i think this might be to cater for a baby seat...not sure) but it got rid of a major rattle.
2. stuffing a black towel (my seats are black) in between where the drivers side rear seat latches back to its top lock and both rattles were entirely dealt with

i have an ongoing rattle from one of the dashboard air vents which i addressed by forcing a piece of pliable rubber in between the dash/chrome air vent...its somewhat temporary though as it needs renewing now and then
