Anyone pulling the trigger on new shoes today? I am very close.

SimpleTiredotcom has Nokian WRG3's for $185.37/each today (free shipping)

DiscountTireDirectdotcom has Conti Terrain Contact A/T's for $201.95/each (free shipping) but they're also offering a $100 prepaid mastercard rebate and a couple of add'l 10% off deals off of that price.

Any other hot deals to add to this 1-day thread?

Update: I ordered a set of the TerrainContacts (255/55/R19) even after all that talk about loving the WRG3s. As mentioned in one of the reviews, this is a good tire for those who drive 90% street and 10% mild off-road. I also preferred the more aggressive look that wasn't over the top. Upfront cost was $807.80 but $180 in rebates (and no tax) brings cost down to $628 before mounting, disposal, alignment. Not a bad buy.

I'll break them in with a round trip from DC to Michigan in December.

I get it, I have had several sets of tires I raved about, but I have never had the same tires twice, there seems to be an eternal search for the perfect tire and there is usually something new to try! :driver:

You nailed it. So far on my LR4s I've had stock Conti's, Bridgestone Dueller Alenzas, and Nokian WRG3s. It was time for something new and a switch from the street tire look. These TerrainContacts kept pulling at me but it was a close call with the pricing of the Nokians that I found plus my positive experience with them in the past.

My only reservation was that this Conti A/T is relatively new but the reviews and owner comments I read have been consistently positive. The truth is that I'm not going to push this tire to its limits so aesthetics played a bigger role than they might with someone who had more technical demands.

I got in at the tail end of the black friday sale Discount Tire was having last night. Ordered a set of Nokian Hakka R3's.

Side note, I hate my TerrainContacts and cant wait till they wear out! They don't do well on the muddy back roads outside of Longmont, CO. They don't do well in snow (town driving) . They are alright on mild off roading. Did some old mining trails outside of Creede, CO on a nice day. They do well for my around town and highway driving, but that's really it.

Sounds about right, when the TerrainContacts came out, one of the designers of the tire explained in an interview that it was developed for those that want the comfort of an all-seaon tire with the looks of an all-terrain. It is a street-biased tire and I am guessing it has the typical all-season performance a decent brand tire should have....

They are great for my long trips and my gas mileage likes them, but that's it really. I guess I was expecting more from them that what I should have. Oh well, the search continues for the perfect tire! lol

I ordered the Proud Rhino kit on their cyber Monday sale and then got a set of 275/65-18 Goodyear Duratracs with $200 rebate on the Goodyear card. It definitely has made a difference in the look of the truck.

So far I've only had the OEM Conti's (awful). I want a tire that is comfortable in the highway but capable of a bit more off-roading than street tires if I venture onto an unpaved trail. I have hakkas for winter.

I suspect the Conti AT's might suit me well then, no?
