Are you guys aware of the performance oil changes they do at the dealer?

Sounds like the BG MOA additive/treatment. I have used the BG 44K *fuel* additive in conjunction with oil changes (every 3rd or 4th oil change) but have not done the oil treatment either at the shop or as DIY.

I've never added anything to my fuel tank. I fill up exclusively with Shell Premium (93 - Nitro), and if I can't, I buy another premium brand.

You guys are making me wonder if I should add a can of that BG44K stuff. LR4 drives like new at 5 years/33k miles.

Its not fuel additive. Its an oil additive.

Fuel addititives - GOOD ones - are ok, but really not needed frequently. Generally doesn't hurt though. Using Top Tier gas is highly recommended. If using heavy-duty fuel cleaners, it's a good idea to change the oil shortly afterwards.

Oil additives are a whole separate discussion, but as a general rule, don't use them - even if the dealer claims it's "ok" or will somehow "help".

One interesting thing I just noticed today is the oil change sticker my dealership put on my windshield after doing the timing chain job (which also included a fresh oil change). It's set out at 8,000 miles for the next oil change, and not the Land Rover recommended 15k miles.

The BG44k stuff that Land Rover uses and recommends is the fuel additive.
