Your thoughts on these LR4 rims/wheels?

I'm after 18 inch wheels, and the old LR3 will not fit even though they have the +53 I have to get a spacer which is $300+, Lucky8 do $200 including spacer steel wheels. I'm going to get them but I need to travel to the US to pick them up as they don't deliver internationally.

FYI on the sensors, I just bought 4 for my 08 RR and RockAuto.com has the VDO OEM original LR part number for $27.xx each on wholesale closeout (these are 315mhz though and probably a bit older, but still new in box) and the updated current part number (still 315mhz for 08 vehicles) for $47.xx each.

They have the VDO 433mhz for the newer LR4's for $47.00 as well, but wow, $23 at tirerack is crazy cheap - if I plug in my 08 LR3 or RR they are $71.00 at Tirerack, so I am not sure what the difference is there, but you can hardly go wrong if they last at least one set of tires!

When I got my Cooper Zeons at Discount Tire, I had them put a TPMS in my new full size spare. When I had them rotate the tires and incorporate the spare into the rotation, the TPMS warning light went off. It took a few trips back to get it fixed, and I think they eventually had to get one from the LR dealer.

Sensors have arrived from TireRack. Got the rims (with plastic center caps), the sensors, and the tires, anything else I may need before I head to the tire shop?

Did you do bead or lead weights for balancing

Not sure whats the difference or what that means. First time I heard of this, I thought balancing would only require some weights that they put on the rim.

Haven't had a chance to go to the tire shop yet, is the above something I should be looking into?

Nah. Beads, powder, bbs, etc are sometimes used to balance tires - they go inside the tire and balance it dynamically as it spins. They can also **** up TPMS sensors. Some can seal punctures if you get one, but those are also the kind that do the most damage to TPMS sensors. It's beneficial sometimes in hugely heavy and lumpy tires (like TSL Boggers or the like) and tires that go through lots of wear like motorcycles - because they're constantly rebalancing these kind of tires will wear more evenly as things change.

Not something for you to care about at all. Your shop will use regular stick-on lead weights and you'll be riding happy like every other normal vehicle on the road. Not sure why he mentioned it.

I mentioned it as I am trying to find people who have used them and get their opinion.
As you said I used them in my bmw r1200gs and I loved them but I have heard people are using them in overland vehicles due to the bumps and knocks to the tyres which changes the balance.
I removed the the tpms off of my vehicle as I hate the low tyre warning message when I air down

Oh, I gotcha. They'll work great for that, the only real drawback is that you don't really have balanced tires at low speeds - gotta spin up a bit to distribute. Not really a big deal except in things like parking lots and stop-and-go traffic on lumpy tires. The powder and goo style are better about that, but getting them cleaned off the wheel at the next tire change can kind of suck.
