All of the sudden my iPhone 5s is getting a "device error" or "not recognized" when plugged into the Mitsumi 30 port cord. I have tried multiple devices and am still getting the same error.

Does the audio not work through the USB port?

I am hoping that it is not some wiring issues as my LR4 is just out of warranty.

Any tips or ideas are greatly appreciated. I have a road trip this weekend and want to get this resolved ASAP!!

Many thanks,
Kevin

Any time this has happened to me I simply reset the phone (also a 5S).
Hold the power and home button down for a while until the phone screen goes black and then restart the phone.
If on top of it you turn off your engine for a 8 to 10 minutes the truck will reset itself as well.

I hope this works for you

Sorry to tell you this but my 2010 LR-4 had a similar issue. Unfortunately I didn't find this out until after I took delivery. Turns out the radio module went bad. The radio itself worked but the Aux hookups Satellite, Ipod Iphone USB did not. I'm not saying this is a given for you but I had to buy a whole new radio.

The Piece of **** that sold me the truck from Marietta Luxury Motors in GA would not cover the repair. He claimed he didn't make enough on the truck...I am in Baltimore and needed a dealer in Annapolis to do the replacement. 1300 + Labor.

I had this problem. My iPhone 6 would not connect to the audio of my 2011 Range Rover and produced a "Device Error" message. After trying several things that did not fix the problem, I realized that the problem began after I cleared all of my music files from the music app on my Iphone a few months back. I'm guessing that because the car was unable to find any music files it became frustrated and saw this as an error. When I restored the music files to the app, the phone and car linked normally and now plays both my music files as well as Pandora and Amazon Music content. Hope this helps others. I spent several days frustrated over this issue.

This thread is kind of old now but if anyone else stumbles across this I had a similar issue with the Bovee 1000. It would only stay connected with my console lid open so I figured it was the connection going into the plug there. To fix it I simply popped out the usb/iPod port and unplugged the cable from the back and then moved it to the connection underneath the cupholders and haven’t had any issues since. This also hides all the wires and keeps them out of my way in the console.
