Hi,

New here, but been lurking these pages for fixes for a while now. I’ve got an ‘06 LR3 w/ 129,000 miles. Two days ago I noticed there was a knocking/rattling noise when I would brake (the kind you get when you change lanes and run over the reflectors on the ground). Yesterday the steering wheel would shake when braking, followed by the knocking. I jacked up the front end and started trying to move parts of the suspension. The sway bar/steering link had some play and noticed a knock when I would move them. Is the fix new sway bar/ steering link bushing? Or would i need new lower control arm bushings as well? Videos in links below.

For anyone wondering, it ended up being the worn sway bar bushings. Replaced with lucky8 poly bushes and the shaking is gone.

Removing the upper driver’s side nut was a pain, but a half inch impact wrench, a couple wobble extensions, a u joint and a 1/2” to 3/8” adapter took care of it.
