Hi,

I am wondering whats the difference between series III and 109, specs, pros and cons or other useful information.

thank you.
Series 3 came in SWB (88") wheel base and LWB (109") wheelbase. All mechanically the same until the V8. This was called the Series 3 V8, the Stage 1 V8, or the 109 V8. This was a Series 3 body with extended bonnet and Range Rover sourced running gear.

109 refers only to the wheel base. (109 inches)
There were series 1, 2, 2A, 3 and stage 1 109’s produced.

Don’t know if this is the right forum to ask but I’ve got the opportunity to buy a 1974 series 3 Land Rover in pretty good condition( runs and drives) it’s been converted to 4x4 but other than that it’s all original. It’s a Belgian military impoart vehicle. What are some things I should look for and beware of, what is a good buying price for one with no rust?
