LOL - I've got a 2011 LR4. I've been getting that message from time to time for several years now! I've never had it fixed. Never had any real problems. It always resets itself. If it's a problem with the air compressor, it can't be a very serious one.

After washing my 2011 LR4 it popped up with the “only normal height available” I shut the car off then back on and it seemed to work fine( no error messages) but the compressor was running then it’s like it faded and shut off( as if the power going to it was slowly getting less and less till it was to little to run. It wouldn’t come back on but I was able to raise and lower the car 2 or 3 more times(trying to get the compressor to kick on) shut the car off then on and it came on again strong for about 2 minutes then error saying” vehicle will raise when system cooled” I’m assuming this means I will need a new compressor in the near future and considering it’s a 2011 it will need a software update too? Am I correct?

If you have a 2011, you probably have the Hitachi compressor, as opposed to the AMK compressor that replaced it. The Hitachi ones seem more prone to failure, but it could be that they are just older.

You can replace yours with a Hitachi and not need any software update. Or you can replace it with an AMK, which will require a software update. That software update can be done with the iiD Tool, which every Land Rover owner should probably have anyway.

yeah I'm looking at getting the iiD tool but that may have to wait till I finish school and get another job. im considering just getting a new hitachi compressor instead of the AMK conversion. my current one has lasted 177K miles, that's pretty dang good in my book. however 1Aauto sells a kit, 1 AMK compressor and either 2 front or 2 rear air bags with it for around $700.00(anyone ever used that before? would like to know of the off brand airbags and going to be a crap ride and not last very long) if I bought the iiD tool do I need to purchase the software update from the dealer or is it built into the tool. also do you guys recommend replacing all the valve blocks too( front air bags have had a leak since I bought the car so im doing all 4)

iiD tool has the software built in; you don't need to buy anything from the dealer.

Regarding your current air leak, it's harder to diagnose since you say it's been happening since you bought the car. Normally, if it's working fine and then one day the entire front starts sagging overnight, it's probably the valve block as it's unlikely that both front airbags would start leaking at the same time. If only one corner sags, it's that specific airbag.

Since you don't know whether the entire front started sagging at once, it's harder to tell. Regardless, Land Rover sells a rebuild kit for the valve block that's cheaper than buying the whole block.

oh thats great! my dealership was charging almost $400.00 for the update so it makes more sense to spend an extra 100 and get the tool. ill look into the rebuild kits, never heard of them before. I saw a guy on youtube that used a can of "fix-a-flat" to "fix" his leaking air suspension.... so at least I know what NOT to do lol. last question, if I get that 1Aauto amp compressor kit it does not include a mounting bracket which from what I can tell is needed. does the AMK compressor fit inside the stock plastic box that the Hitachi compressor is in?

I think they use different brackets. The AMK winds up sitting lower in the vehicle.
