I've had the vehicle for several months and no issues with the rear wiper until recently. One evening it was on and working fine, then apparently stopped mid wipe. It eventually started working after messing with it. Now it will only work at seemingly random intervals.

Any ideas? Maybe something is caught, out of alignment or can be adjusted? Really hoping it doesn't require a wiper motor replacement. I can live without it, but it's very useful in Seattle.

Wipers are seemingly working less often as time goes on, but they still randomly work! Can’t find any pattern to when they actually work.

No experience with the LR4 on this, but from previous cars, that has always led to a bad wiper motor. More often it is the wiper moving slowly, but intermittent motion had also been a manifestation of a motor on the fritz.

Are you having issues with front wipers too?
Nope, front wipers are working fine.

Rear wiper turned on today when putting into reverse (front wipers were on), but I couldn’t get the rear to work manually last time I drove.

I assumed wiper motor the whole time, just wanted to explore any option first since those are $$$.

I'd get in the tailgate and see of you have some corrosion on a connection. Turn the wiper on, and start tapping on the motor and wiggle the wire connector..

I’ve noticed lately that when it does actually turn on, it’s struggles to wipe. It kind of bounces and shudders across the window. So seems more like a motor issue than electrical.

Doesn’t the LR4 normally have a very slow wipe speed? Ours has been that way since new. About 1/4 the speed of our LR3 rear wiper.

I had this issue on my '16. Wiper would stop dead center at noon position. Dealer replaced wiper motor and wiper. Never happened again.
