The first thing after the cats in the muffler. It's actually a lot smaller than the resonator, that comes right after the muffler. I just took out the resonator and then kept the 2 small resonators at the end of each tail pipe. I can take a pic for you later.

I am trying to figure out what has been removed by the OP. Technically speaking a straight pipe vehicle is commonly referred to anything with no mufflers or resonator at all, some keep the cats, those who don't are what a catless system is called.

With the initial setup from the op it looks like he removed the central muffler and the resonator from what the pictures can tell. Not sure about the two end pipe units.

The last guy seems to have removed the resonator only?

Looking into doing this soon so any clarification would be great as well as if any setup has drone? I drive long distances once a month and do not want to have a headache for 10 hrs straight.

Any info is much appreciated

I don't really care about the sound of my truck, but I have had the thought pass through my mind of ditching the two small resonators at the rear, and attempting to replace the rigid exhaust pipe that runs under the rear suspension with some type of woven stainless steel tubing. My thought process being that a flexible, woven piece could get bashed against rocks and return to shape.

As I said, the sound doesn't matter to me, but those low hanging exhaust pipes have always given me pause.

My 13 LR4 came with an X-Pipe and a Flowmaster. I don't really notice the difference in sound till
I get in my wife's LR3. With music on it's just not noticeable to me and we drove it cross country last year.
I do kind of like the sound when it starts up and the downshift crackles nice as mentioned. Makes it
sound like I think a V8 should.

I have to say though that if I were building out a truck I could think of other places to spend the $.

Just finished doing some exhaust work on my '11 Lr4 . Started with the center muffler delete, then replaced the resonator with an H pipe. I have before and after videos on YouTube if any cares to see
